When Will the Republican Candidates Grow a Set?
January 26, 2008
You know what I’m looking for over at The Conservative Post? I’m looking for one of the candidates to stop playing kissy-face with these socialist reporters, and to start taking them on when they spew their liberal talking points.
If you missed last night’s Republican Debate on MSNBC, consider yourself lucky. It was a pathetic attempt at a debate. Tim Russert and Brian Williams did a liberal hatchet job on the candidates…. prefacing most questions with a litany of liberal talking point assertions, and then throwing it the candidates to defend against their assertions.
Here’s Russert at his liberal worst. Tim comes in at about minute 3 of this 6 minute clip:
Not one. Not one of these so-called conservative candidates decided to take on Russert’s asinine assertion. Russert cherry-picked a few stats to paint his bleak view of the economy under President Bush, and none of these guys called him on it!
No one said the following:
“You know Tim, you do this country a disservice when you mislead the American people with cherry picked stats designed to make one party look bad. You well know, Mr. Russert, that President Bush inherited an economy in recession. Add to that the worst terrorist attack in America’s history 9 months into his first term. An attack that sent massive shock waves through this country’s economy, and did tremendous damage to the confidence of the American psyche.
President Bush showed tremendous leadership in those tough times. He fought for and passed 2 major tax cuts that turned around what could have been an economy in recession for years to come.
We have had 52 straight month of job growth in this country. The longest period of job growth in American history. Over 10 million new jobs created. Real aftertax income has increase an average of 10%.
I’m not going to stand up here tonight and defend the Republican Congress and the President when they abandoned their conservative principles and began spending like drunken Democrats. That clearly was wrong on their part, and they deserved to lose control of congress for their mistakes.
Now, I could go on an on countering your liberal talking points, but I think the American people can see my point. Stop taking sides, Mr. Russert, and start playing the role of reporting the news instead of trying to make the news.
Wouldn’t that be great if you heard a Republican candidate say that during one of these lame debates? Talk about firing up the base…
When are one of these guys going to grow a set and take on these libs in the media? Challenge them on their liberal DNC talking points. Shoot down their ridicules premises of their questions. Get confrontational… be freakin’ interesting!

If your opinion is to be any indication, they’re too busy licking Bush’s “set” to grow their own.
Honestly, can some of you conservatives stop the Reagan/Bush worship and actually think for yourself, for once?
Also, on your way out the door, don’t hit your head on the giant cloud of irony you made by whining about “cherry picked statistics” and then throwing your own around.
John,
Spoken like a true lib. Don’t let facts get in the way of your emotion.
