Thanks for ditching Firefox in favor of IE!

Yasser Dabha over at No One’s Listening had me chuckling earlier. He posted a sarcastic letter about the Firefox vs. Internet Explorer happenings at the work place.

Enjoy!

Are you still using Internet Explorer?

Browser WarsOK, according to my statistics, there are still a ton of visitors to my site that are using Internet Explorer. Why that is I cannot for the life of me understand. Some of you might have a good reason, and if so, please let me know what that reason is.

But if there are Internet Explorer users visiting this site that are only using Internet Explorer because it’s what you already have, it’s what you’re used to, and you don’t know there are other options, this post is for you.

47% of network traffic uses Firefox

In only three months of being online, ConservaBlogs.com has jumped into the top 9,000 blogs at Technorati and we’ve gone from 6,000 visits the first month to what is shaping up to be more than 25,000 visits for March.

This growth has allowed me to view some very interesting statistics. It was difficult during the first month because I knew that the stats were skewed due to such small amounts of traffic. Now, however, the stats are large enough to actually be taken seriously.

The most surprising statistic has been the user browsers. Let’s take a look.

Firefox Extension: Fire ftp

Last night I received a copy of an e-mail conversation between Crystal and one of the ConservaBloggers. The blogger was on the hunt for a way to use ftp to get files to his hosting account and didn’t quite know where to start.

Here at ConservaBlogs we use a specific plugin for Firefox to handle all of our ftp needs. The extension, Fire ftp, is arguably one of the easiest to use ftp clients available via open source.

Fire ftp

First, in order to use this you’ll need to scrap that crappy Internet Explorer browser and pick up the free browser, Firefox. Then go to the plugin page and download the Firefox extension.

You’ll love it!
