The Definition of Chutzpah: Israel Criticizing Iran on Nuclear Weapons
October 25th, 2009 Posted in Iran, Israel, Nonproliferation, Nuclear WeaponsYou’ve just got to love it. An Israeli diplomat complaining to an Iranian official about Iran’s alleged nuclear weapons program!
The exact details of the exchange have not been made public, and likely never will be, but reportedly the Israeli official accused Iran of violating the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), to which Israel isn’t even a signatory, while the Iranian official pointedly asked Israel to confirm its nuclear arsenal, which it refused to do.
Let’s see. A country with an undeclared program which possesses upwards of 200 nukes is berating another one which is merely suspected of attempting to create a nuclear weapons capacity. And the U.S. provides the nuclear power with well-nigh absolute support under well-nigh every circumstance in well-nigh every situation.
Yet Washington claims to be for nonproliferation. Sigh …
