Anti Dictionary Democrats …
Posted by: Blue Collar Muse in Anti Dictionary Democrats, Humor, Liberal, Short and SweetI was minding my own business checking my mail at Gmail when the Dictionary.com word of the day linkvertisement caught my eye.
For grins and giggles I clicked through and found this gem.
The word is ‘flagitious’ and it’s an adjective.
You could use it in the following manners:
The political Left is a flagitious ideology.
Their poster boy, Bill Clinton, was a flagitious president.
His pursuit of women he was not married to was a flagitious practice.
The pronunciation and definition are as follows:
\fluh-JISH-uhs\, adjective:
1. Disgracefully or shamefully criminal; grossly wicked; scandalous; — said of acts, crimes, etc.
2. Guilty of enormous crimes; corrupt; profligate; — said of persons.
3. Characterized by enormous crimes or scandalous vices; as, “flagitious times.”
Since the former president was set on redefining the word ‘is’, no doubt he’ll be lobbying to change the meaning of this one or have it deleted from the dictionary altogether.
Thinking that not only do words mean things, some of them sound and look really cool, too…

Great word, thanks for the grin & giggle.
PS
Man, you’ve been a writing fool this week… You promised that you would stop taking the amphetamines? Are we going to have to stage an “intervention?”

James -
Hehehe …when the Muse is upon you, you just give in and let it take you where it will.
It’s been a fun week of writing.
It’s not been much of a struggle.
I’m sure that will come to an end eventually and the crash will be horrendous. Being the eternal procrastinator … I’m putting off the crash for as long as possible.

Insulting people you disagree with - it’s an American trait of which we can all be proud.

Kevin,
I’m not exactly sure I understand your comment. I’m assuming that you did not appreciate the insights into Bill Clinton’s actions/character.
The comments about Bill Clinton/Liberals being “flagitious” had nothing to do with disagreeing with him/them politically or ideologically. The term was being used because Bill Clinton had the most corrupt administration in American history, which is a historical fact. Let’s not forget that he is still disbarred for his illegal conduct as President.
Now, if we were to say that Hillary is fat shrew or that Bill has an ugly bulbous nose, then that would be insulting someone just because we disagree with them, but we made no such statements. However, it would not have been an insult if we were to have called Bill a whoremonger, because it is another historical fact that he enjoyed using a female intern (who was young enough to be his daughter) as a humidor.
Hillary saying that rumors of Bill’s serial infidelity was just “part of a vast right-wing conspiracy” was an insult.
Al Gore calling American citizens who choose to be pro-life the “extra-chromosome right wing” is an example of an insult.
DNC chairman Howard Dean saying that that a lot of Republicans ”have never made an honest living in their lives” would be another example of an insult.
When Liberals call successful business people “greedy” that too is an insult.
Insulting people you disagree with - it’s a Liberal trait of which they are exceedingly proud. (e.g. Rosie O’Donald)

PS
I apologize ff I misunderstood your comment, no insult was intended.
