The 2007 Weblog Awards …
Posted by: Blue Collar Muse in Blogging, Blogroll, Nashville NuggetsUPDATE: Per a post at the official site, the deadline for nominations has been extended to Wednesday! Run, don’t walk, and get yours in.
While answering email, cleaning out spam and such, I ran across a note that the 2007 WebLog Awards nomination process closes today. I zipped over there and nominated Conservablogs.Com for best blog in “TTLB Top 250″, Publius’ Forum as “Best Conservative Blog” along with voting for Captain’s Quarters from a previous nomination. In a fit of hubris and self promotion, I also nominated myself, here at Blue Collar Muse, in the category of “Best New Blog”.
Run over there quick and either nominate a blog of your own or your own choosing. While you’re there, click on my nominations (or not) to get them the attention they deserve!
Thankful that I managed to slide in at the last second …

The link is Vote for Blue
You have to scroll down about 3/4 of the way or you can click on the EDIT pull down menu on the top of your browser and use the FIND in this page option. Just key in ‘blue’ and it will take you right to the place on the page where I am.
Thanks for the vote!

Also, I ask that you go to the above website. I can absolutely vouch for the integrity and conservative credentials of the beloved friend who sent me the info, and who, while misguided on some social issues, possesses the finest financial mind of anyone I’ve ever known.
Please check it out.

Thanks for the link to the petition. I’m also glad you trust the friend that sent it to you. Unfortunately, before I sign it, I’d like to know a bit more about ‘Citizens for Financial Responsibility’.
This petition seems to have popped up not all that long ago and there is no reference to CFR anywhere that I can find. Thre are no links or background or anything at all.
I have a couple of concerns with the view I’m signing onto as well. I’m not sure, for example, that Congress has all of the responsibility the petition assigns to them. I may well be wrong there and am OK with being wrong - it’s a matter of being sure of what I’m signing. I’m FAR more uncomfortable not knowing anything about CFR and thus nothing about how my support might be used.
Can you or your friend point me to a website or an article or something besides the petition?
Thanks,
Blue

Actually, I sent the wrong initial address…this is about early feedback, and public input. Got more to come.

Here is the requested info, Blue. What is important right now is not necessarily votes, but rather, that the concept be put out there for examination and critique.
Below, from my favorite nemesis:
“CFR are the signers of the petition.
This is where we discussed how to pull it together.

Thank you, Blue. Robert is conservative to the core, deeply commited to concept of building broad middle class wealth and healthy communities through home ownership in both cities and suburbs. He’s as passionate as someone with a thoroughly analytical, (and deeply xtian) 160 IQ can be about an issue. I’ve known Robert all my life, and if he is sounding warning bells…’tis best to take heed. He has guided us through financial uncertainties to a relatively secure future…we’ll be okay…many of our neighbors, and their kids… are at profound risk. Please have a look and get back with me. Your input would mean a lot.
