If You Stop Clinging to Your Silly Sky God and Guns, You’d Understand
Posted by: Blue Collar Muse in 2008 election season, Blogroll, Common Sense, PoliticsElizabeth, over at E!! The True Conservative Story, posted up excerpts from Jonah Goldberg’s column from today. Evidently today is supposed to be a day of humor here at BCM. JG’s column fits the mold. Not only is it spot on, it’s a real laugh out loud (I did, several times) read. He takes on the issue of why Barack Obama can’t get traction and gain ground on McCain.
He opens with
The Democrats are having their flop-sweat moment. Barack Obama should be way out in front. The Republicans are in terrible shape. There hasn’t been a more battered brand name since Bart Simpson swallowed a jagged metal “O” from his box of Krusty-O’s cereal. The GOP has nominated an old white-haired dude, in Paris Hilton’s words, who makes Dick Cheney look like a lambada champion. He’ll be the kind of president who will yell from the Oval Office window, “You kids get off my lawn!” The economy isn’t roadkill quite yet; it’s sort of like wounded roadkill, flopping around, unable to get going but unwilling to lay down and die.
And yet, John McCain is pulling ahead of Obama.
It just gets better from there. Please visit Jonah and E!! And feed them both, please. They get testy when hungry.

Thanks for the front-and-center link on BCM. I just adore Jonah Goldberg and pretty much everything he writes. Plus, he’s Funny. His talent makes him the de facto Torch Carrier for WFB as far as I am concerned. Anyhoo, glad you enjoyed the read and see you around the blogosphere…

E -
I knew about Jonah and then I heard him speak in Atlanta in April. What an incredible experience.
I’m now working my way through his book Liberal Fascism. It’s a great read!
And you’re welcome! Hope the link sends some traffic your way.
