Obama Waffles, A Tasty Political Snack

This one was too funny not to pass on via a post.
In a recent moment of inspiration while eating pizza one evening down in Williamson County, two intrepid heroes, Bob DeMoss and Mark Whitlock, hit on an idea sure to go viral. Obama Waffles! More than just a mere recitation of the changes the Democratic candidate has undergone in the last few months, this idea had a product to take away from the contact. A box of waffle mix, complete with humorous graphics. The product was a parody of a presidential candidate’s positions. Our budding Capitalists realized a hit when they saw it and in an instant, Obama Waffles were born.
Of course, it is never that simple. The product took off almost immediately and Bob and Mark just returned from the Value Voter’s Summit in Washington DC. They had the misfortune of running into the other side of the debate. Much has already been written of Democrats and their propensity for activity that is not merely morally empty but filled with practically every sort of immorality. A simple stroll down Sarah Palin Parkway reveals that there is no immorality that the Left will not champion or embrace. With such serious folks on the Left, it’s no wonder they seem incapable of recognizing humor when they see it. Everything must be serious. Thus the box of Obama Waffles cannot be seen as a parody or caricature, the Left demands it be seen as racist!
In Washington DC, according to Obama Waffles’ blog The Daily Waffle, Bob and Mark ran afoul of the American Atheists who loosed an AP reporter on the Family Research Council, sponsors of the event, who asked why they permitted racist material to be displayed and sold at their event. The FRC asked the pair to stop selling their product which they immediately did. No word on whether the same American Atheist activist also contacted the protesters outside and asked them to desist in their public indecency in displaying a sign reading “Focus on your own F***ing Family”. All activists are equal but some activists are more equal than others, evidently.
Bob and Mark are back in Tennessee and are still selling their wares online. For those who choose to try and continue the “You’re just despicable racists!” meme, please see their post wherein they point out a host of other uses (by the Left of course) of caricatures and parody of equal quality which must then also be classified as racist. Or we can all be adult and recognize caricature and parody when we see it. But if you insist, I’ll ask Bob and Mark to stop selling their waffles if you write to Gary Trudeau and ask for a written apology for his offense against Condi Rice.
Until then, order up a mess of Obama Waffles and have a family moment over the kitchen table. Share some quality time making waffles or pancakes and pass on to the young’ns the value of critical thinking. Check out The Daily Waffle for plenty of object lessons with which to make your point.

This ad and concept is racist. How sad my Christian brothers at Focus on the Family entertained this nonsense at a recent fundraiser.

Ann,
How sad you, as a Christian, would join in the piling on of criticism of two gentlemen doing little more than “15 minutes of fame” marketing.
If you went to their blog via the link provided, you see several examples to go along with their product, of caricature and parody used in the political process. If you want to condemn the folks at Focus on the Family or any other group for their tangential connection to Obama Waffles, please have the integrity to condemn the rest of the “racist” people and organizations by name.
That you don’t do so would possibly indicate that your outrage is either feigned or selective. I’m a Christian as well. My interest here is less what this or that person has done but what does it mean.
Either Obama Waffles are mere caricature and parody as are the examples from the Left in which case making any of them racist cheapens real racism and is nothing more than political posturing. Or they are all really racist in which case I expect equal despising under the moralizing. Condemn Obama Waffles and write to newspapers demanding that Gary Trudeau’s comic strip be removed from their syndication.
But do not come here or go anywhere else and condemn Obama Waffles as racist and phrase your opinion in Christian terms and expect me to give you a pass. Either it’s OK or your are against all racism all the time and you’re willing to call everyone on it, not just one group.

Sad Sad
Obviously racist.
I truly feel sorry for anyone who doesn’t recognise racism when they see it.

@F Aubert -
What about those who weaken the meaning of the term “racist” by finding it where it does not exist?
And are you also claiming the material I referenced in the post from the other side of the debate is racist? If so, your position has merit and, while we disagree, I respect your view.
If not, please stop the drive by commenting and leave the discussion to the adults.

When Whoopi Goldberg labeled the Obama Waffles as being “racist” on ABC TV’s THE VIEW, her protestation rang hollow. She was quick to compare Obama Waffles to the Aunt Jemimah pancake mix, and then claimed Obama Waffles relied upon hurtful racial stereotypes. Really? If A.J. pancakes are so hurtful, why hasn’t Whoopi blasted Quaker Oats for selling MILLIONS of boxes year after year?
Blue Collar Muse is right on the money. The Looney Left plays the race card whenever they can’t deal with the argument. The fact of the matter is that Mr. Obama waffles on issues so fast, he’s causing mass whiplash. Putting Obama on a box of waffles is nothing more than a powerful form of political satire . . . and, as the saying goes, if you can’t stand the heat get out of the kitchen.
