The 2008 Weblog Awards

The process began a couple of months ago when I was nominated by a friend and so many of you voted for me in the nomination process. Thank you!
The Finalists were announced last night. The entire list of finalists in the category in which I have been nominated are:
I am both stunned and honored to be considered worthy of inclusion in such a list. Like many of you, the other nominees are folks I turn to for information and inspiration. Two of them, Erick Erickson at ‘RedState’ and Jon Henke at ‘The Next Right’ are friends as well as colleagues and I’m honored to blog at both of those sites as well. Pam Geller at ‘Atlas’, ‘Victor Davis Hanson’, ‘Eject, Eject, Eject!’’s Bill Whittle and Michelle Malkin are household names when it comes to Conservative blogging. The folks at ‘Ace of Spades’, ‘PowerLine’, ‘American Thinker’, ‘Right Wing Nuthouse’ and ‘LGF’ are continually in the news and in the know. Only ‘Plumb Bob Blog’ and ’small dead animals’ were blogs I had not heard of. A bit of research turned up the fact that ‘Ace of Spades’ won this category for the 2007 Weblog Awards while ’small dead animals’ won the 2007 Weblog Awards as the ‘Best Canadian Blog’. The short response to my evaluation of my chances is a quiet chuckle …
Perhaps next year. Or the year after that. Or maybe in a different category. For the moment, I’m off to get my Finalist’s badge and to call all my six readers to tell them to vote starting January 5, 2009. Thank you to all who voted for me to make the list. Hopefully I’ll repay your kindness by not finishing dead last.

Heh… Just to return the favor, I’d never heard of your blog, either, but it’s nice to meet ya. That you’ve not heard of mine is hardly a surprise; I have a Technorati “authority” ranking of 27. Even yours is high by comparison, and folks like Power Line and Michelle Malkin are in the thousands.
