Disingenuous Democratic Disasters Lurk in Cap and Trade
Posted by: in America First, Anti Dictionary Democrats, Atlas Shrugged, BO Don't Know, Breaking News, Business, Common Sense, Democratic Party, Economics, Energy, Leadership, Not My President, Obama-Nation, The EconomyIf it’s true what the Democrats say - there is to be no real negative employment impact on the Economy by Cap and Trade, why is there a provision for 3 years worth of various unemployment benefits for some workers buried in the bill?
If the Democrats are the party of the common man, why are they pushing this bill which will raise rates on Energy to drive our cars and heat and light our homes when 60% of Americans oppose any legislation to raise their energy bills by even a penny?
If Democrats really believe in America First as they say they do and which others question, why are they pushing a plan that will “… reduce the nation’s GDP by $7.4 trillion, raise electricity rates 90 percent and gasoline prices 74 percent”?
If Democrats … well, you get the picture …
Cap and Trade is bad legislation. It needlessly weakens the American Economy; destroys current high wage American jobs while promising to create replacement employment; puts American interests second to the interests of other nations; ignores the fact that American economic prosperity has done more for the global Economy than this proposed shackling of the American Economy; will result in higher Energy costs for all Americans, including the poor - some estimates see Energy costs doubling - $5 a gallon gas and $500 electricity bills for all!
The stupefying aspect to all of this is the projections of all the bad results are based on sound and tested experience over decades. Could it be wrong? Of course. But all the research and experience says otherwise. The projections of positive results are based on the Hope that making this Change will somehow violate the experience and research that says otherwise. Could they be right? Of course. But there is absolutely no solid evidence to believe they are except to repeat “Yes we can!” when the evidence says “No you can’t!”
It’s like the Looters in Atlas Shrugged. Out for only themselves, they sincerely protest they labor for the good of all, while trashing other industries and profiting from their victim’s misfortune and then looking for the next carcass to plunder. They know what is really happening and yet count on a white knight to ride over the hill and save them from the disaster they’re creating and yet leave them and their fortunes intact. It’s illogical, it’s ignorant, it’s irresponsible - but it’s the way the Looters think.
