Given the current environment of political debate in our country in which it is increasingly acceptable to go beyond disagreeing with and contending with an individual to drag the families, friends and associates of the speaker into the debate despite their obvious non-involvement, I thought it necessary to put up the following disclaimer. It must be noted that the disclaimer has always been true despite just being posted. It will permanently appear in the footer of the blog.

I can’t believe I forgot this. Today is my 1st blogiversary! At 3:30 PM, on February 1st, 2007 I put my first post up at Blue Collar Muse! Since then it’s been a wild ride and doors have opened up that I could only dream of a year ago!

295 posts and 961 comments (and 9,810 spam comments) later - to say it’s been a whirlwind trip would be getting close to the truth. Even more exciting is the thought that if everything that has happened to me happened in just one year, what will the next year bring?

Thanks to Eric Odom, Chuck Muth, Gary Schneider, John McJunkin, Leslie Graves, Ed Morrissey, Warner Todd Huston, David Oatney, Adam Graham, all the folks at Conservablogs, The Tennessee ConserVOLiance, CLC 2007, New Media Alliance, Volunteer Voters, Nashville is Talking, Music City Bloggers and all the folks at Sam Adams for making this the best year of my life professionally.

Thanks, too, for all the friendships, kind words, warm thoughts, kicks in the teeth and noogies from bloggers great and small who took the time out to read my stuff and comment, teach me new things and force me to get better. Thanks for all the encouragement, smack-downs and suggestions. It should be obvious, but I’ll say it anyway - the greatest thanks goes to The Much Younger Trophy Wife for letting me visit with all of you as often as she does! I would not be where I am today without her and all of you! Looking forward to a great 2008!
