The Scam Continues To Grow
Hi Brit,
It’s not bad enough that Al Gore is still trying to scare the world out of more money, but now the “climate scientists” are catching onto the technique. Take a look at this, Influence of global warming seen in changing rains, where we find that Francis Zwiers, who appears to be qualified enough to be considered a scientist in Canada, is making outrageous claims about rainfall patterns already being influenced by Global Warming.
Just like the base claim of Global Warming, Zwiers is using scanty and unreliable data collected in various places around the world for only the last 75 years. Of course, that time span is nowhere near long enough to discount normal weather cycles, even if the veracity of the information could be trusted. The other difficulty in tying rainfall to Global Warming, is how to separate other influences out. Surprise, surprise, surprise! Here comes the trusty computer model once again.
So, on the word of a computer game, since that is, after all, what computer models are, the world is supposed to quiver in fear and, with luck, take up a collection for the Z man to continue his “research.” However, before such rash action is taken, why don’t we get a second opinion? I just happen to have my own computer model. I made it out of a cardboard box, and it looks surprisingly good for the 20 minutes of time I invested in its construction. Hang on a minute while I consult it.
(pause)
Just as I thought. My computer model says that Francis’ computer model is wrong. Not only that, it said a few nasty things about the man’s parents and the state of their marriage at the time of his birth. Then, it started raving about being able to kick the ass of any damn Canadian computer, any time, any where… Which is when I threw it back into the closet. Sorry Canada; that last bit was my fault for using a carton with “made in the USA” on it, and I suspect the attitude is from the previous contents, which was boxing gloves.
Anyway, it still proves that the Global Warming/rainfall thing is just an extension of the original hoax, and is nothing more than a scam to loot the public coffers. It’s not even very original, being just an update of the old rain making scam. The real question is not if Global Warming is causing changes in patterns of rainfall, but why don’t the police arrest these frauds like they would any other scam artist?

Good grief! Do people actually think you have anything of substance to say?? I pity them . Try READING some the academic research that’s been bouncing around for the last 20 years ! You seem somewhat illiterate and have difficulty formulating an intelligent argument that would entice me to pursue some sort of discourse. There is a no word to describe how ashamed I am of people like you.

Hi Gudrun,
I suspect I’ve read more of the literature on the subject than you. That, however, isn’t your real complaint. Rather, you’re upset that, instead of blindly accepting the proclamations of “climate scientists,” which are mostly made to get a slice of the research grant pie, I dare to point out the flaws in their work. It’s also clear that, since you jump directly to personal attacks, you don’t know crap about the subject, and blindly accepted the word of Al Gore in typical liberal knee-jerk fashion. There is a word that describes how I feel about pseudo-intellectual fanatics such as yourself, frightened.
