Well, I never read a book about politics, people told me I am a Conservative based on my opinions. I have been a man without a party for about two years and it is not bad at all. Both parties are bad for our country, but for now, we are stuck with them. I encourage everyone to change your voter registration to independent, to send a message to both parties; vote however you like.

Welcome to the coalition!

Sam,
Good post!

It is good to wrestle with your beliefs and to question why you believe what you believe. I just want to know what is true and what is just and until you have looked at something from all sides with intellectual honesty you won't know if what you believe is true.

The problem with most Americans is that they are into "feelings" and they don't think at all about anything of real importance. I'm glad to see that you are thinking your way through life.

Sam -

Great post! I like to see others wrestling with what it means to believe what they believe.

Just this evening I spent some time with one of my closest friends. While Conservative in many ways he is growing increasingly Liberal in many ways as well. When we discuss events and politics, he never fails to give me things to think about.

The great thing about being on the Conservative end of the political spectrum is a greatly reduced concern about being Borked by your own people.

It's beginning to change some, unfortunately, but seems to be limited so far to GOP people who wonder where their party has run off to. Beyond that, we're a pretty big tent and welcome the debate and wrestling that must take place for a man to truly come to terms with his creed.

Welcome to the struggle and may it never truly end!
