Judge supports hiring and renting to illegals!

The citizens of Hazleton, PA were dealt a blow by one of the greatest allies a criminal can have, a judge. I was disappointed, but not shocked, to read an article from Reuters via Drudge.

Court throw’s out city’s illegal immigration law

U.S. District Judge James Munley said the city of Hazleton, 100 miles north of Philadelphia, was not allowed to implement a law that would fine businesses that hire illegal immigrants and penalize landlords who rent rooms to them.

“Federal law prohibits Hazleton from enforcing any of the provisions of its ordinances,” Munley wrote in a 206-page opinion following a federal trial in which Hazleton’s law was challenged by civil rights groups.

It is difficult to imagine how some judges sleep at night. This judge’s action against righteousness isn’t as grotesque as the disgusting act of Judge Katherine Savage, who dismissed the case of child rape against Liberian native Mahamu Kanneh because n interpreter who spoke his West African dialect could not be located, however this ruling may have a nationwide effect. This precedent could be used to prevent other local governments from enacting and enforcing laws that punish those that hire and rent to illegal aliens.

The struggle against illegal immigration is obviously more than building the Hunter Fence, even though that would be a wonderful start! The struggle is against the politicians who, for a variety of unjust reasons, seek to bestow legal status on those who are now here and those who would come here illegally. The struggle is against those greedy employers that continue to hire illegals and those anti-sovereignty (for lack of a better descriptive term) judges that enable these employers.

The common sense steps that would go a long way toward facilitating the natural attrition of illegal aliens within our borders are rendered useless by the actions of those entities mentioned above. These types of rulings should serve as proof that our government has become too cumbersome and the bureaucracy seems to damage our nation as much or more than it proves useful!

In support of the Fair Tax

I wrote an article for the new politics section of Riverbender.com in support of The Fair Tax. Here is part of the article:

The American taxpayer has an excellent opportunity to take control of his federal tax burden and take home his entire paycheck (minus any state or local deductions.) This opportunity also presents a means of funding Social Security and Medicare while allowing companies to invest more into growth and increased pay for their employees. This opportunity is known as The Fair Tax.

The Fair Tax Act of 2007 (HR 25) would abolish federal income taxes, payroll taxes, Social Security contributions, and Medicare contributions. The revenue to operate the federal government would be generated by a 23 percent tax on purchases of new items. This 23 percent national sales tax seems like a large number at first glance but upon closer examination it becomes an attractive alternative to the existing quagmire that is the federal tax code.

If you would like to read more of my opinion and the opposing (liberal) view please go to www.Riverbender.com/politics and feel free to voice your opinion in the forum.

NARAL, willing to sacrifice cleanliness for abortion!

I was under the false impression that NARAL was a supposed proponent of women’s health issues. I almost thought I saw an example of hypocrisy when I read an article linked to under “Choice Headlines” on the NARAL web site. The link read: Missouri law may restrict abortion. I clicked the link and read the article from the Columbia Missourian and discoverd a great deal about the priorities of NARAL.

Excerpt:

After Aug. 28, any medical clinic performing more than five first-trimester abortions a month, or any abortions later in pregnancy, will be required to be licensed as an “ambulatory surgical center.”

That means abortion clinics will be subject to a wide range of state health department regulations governing their personnel, equipment, cleanliness and the physical characteristics of their facilities. Missouri’s existing regulations for outpatient surgery centers even set such things as minimum hallway widths and parking lot spaces.Planned Parenthood of Kansas and Mid-Missouri says it could cost up to $2 million to renovate its Columbia clinic to comply with the new law. The alternative is to stop offering abortions there, leaving a St. Louis clinic as Planned Parenthood’s only site for surgical abortions in the state.

Supporters of the new law say it is intended to ensure the health and safety of women, an assertion disputed by opponents.

So Planned Parenthood, which had a profit of over 50 million dollars in the 05-06 fiscal year and received over 300 million in taxpayer dollars, would have to spend money to meet the sanitation and sterilization standards. I suppose that could cause a problem for the noble organization that only seeks to turn as high a profit as possible while killing the most innocent of all people! On the bright side for abortion mills such as Planned Parenthood facilities, the new standards would not likely affect their policy of not reporting statutory rape in the name of “women’s privacy.” (Never mind the notion that the victim of statutory rape is legally a child.)

NARAL is concerned that abortion mills may be held to standards that might limit infection and other post-abortion physical ailments. These standards may cause some providers of this brutal slaughter to decide to get out of the abortion business. It seems that the goal of NARAL is to ensure a woman’s right to choose, as long as she chooses abortion and isn’t picky about who does it or what the sanitary condition of the butcher shop is.

Here are five reasons I am pro-life (NARAL believes no one should have these:)

West Hollywood Officials Vote For Terrorist Rights

I followed a link from The Drudge Report to a short article from UPI, which trumpeted: West Hollywood joins call for impeachment. The city officials seemed eager to show their sympathy for down-trodden terrorists by joining a movement, which entails:

“The nationwide effort accuses both Bush and Cheney of numerous constitutional transgressions, including allowing the torture of prisoners and domestic wiretapping to occur.”

The actions of West Hollywood and the 80 other towns nationwide are, sadly, not surprising. The idea that the government’s successful efforts to prevent domestic terrorist attacks, with a great deal of help from vigilant citizens, has become a sore on the collective backside of the left. Liberal politicians and their eager accomplices in the media have deluged the public with reports and rebukes, craftily fashioned to give the impression that our government is listening to our private conversations and allowing its agents to torture and torment helpless detainees.

How cold and uncaring a society would be if it allowed the dunking of of a terrorist in order to save innocent lives. Any compassionate person would dutifully sacrifice a limitless number of his or her loved ones so that calls to known terror links are not overheard, right?

This must be right! This, if not the desired effect, is at least an inevitable unintended consequence of actions such as the foolish vote by the enlightened West Hollywood officials. These votes say, if not in direct terms, I do not care if a homicide bomber kills innocent Americans. I do not wish to see the ACLU given rights denied any homicide bomber. I am willing to hear the screams of pain of my family and friends if we are unfortunate enough to be in the vicinity of an attack, because it is not really an attack… it is a response! After all, we as liberal Americans, know that we are at fault!

Bill Maher and Huffington Post….a match made in the dumpster.

Inspiration is an amazing thing. Possibly the most amazing aspect of inspiration is where it can be found. I found inspiration yesterday at the most unlikely of places, Huffingtonpost.com. I go to this site from time to time because I think it is important to know what the left is saying, especially since sites like this are a source of information for many of the misguided. I am usually disgusted by the positions of the commentators as well as the vulgar way in which many of their positions are presented. Yesterday’s visit to this cesspool of “news” and opinion was no exception, but I was offended and disgusted more than ever before.

Bill Maher had taken the opportunity denigrate “The Business of The Catholic Church” in the wake of the large settlement made by the L.A. Archdiocese in the sexual abuse scandal. Maher seemed to paint all of the Catholic faithful as simple sheep that give monetary donations to an evil entity that uses our contributions to pay for the privilege to do terrible things to children. Of course Maher used the crudest of terms in his commentary to deliver the desired shock value. He also mentioned that the business of the church is “selling an invisible product.”  So in addition to painting the entire church with the pedophile brush, he implies that they priests and bishops are like sleazy salesmen in “the ultimate hustle.”

I am Catholic and have been for about six years. I am also a father and speaking as a father and as a decent (in my own opinion, at least) person, I can tell you my personal opinion on the sexual abuse of a child. I believe that any man or woman, regardless of stature or occupation that is guilty of molesting children should be punished beyond the extent of most current laws. I also believe that any person or entity that would cover up such atrocities should be subject to the maximum penalty. While nothing could excuse the behavior of the guilty, it is unbelievably tasteless to assign blame to an entire religion for the sins of some of its members. Did I miss the remarks by Bill Maher regarding the strapping of explosives to children or is that subject taboo since the acts weren’t committed by Christians?

I realize that people like Bill Maher make their livings by being outrageous and incredibly tasteless. I also realize that when one of these cretins sees an opportunity to dump their garbage on a powerful symbol of morality, they become even more ferocious. I haven’t watched any of Bill Maher’s shows (although I think he probably peaked in D.C. Cab) but I have been unfortunate to have heard and read some of his ranting. I hope that he is not taken too seriously by the people that for reasons stemming from some unknown mental deficiency, go to Huffington Post for news and enlightenment.

Here is where I get to the inspirational value of this filth. I read Maher’s words and felt my face grow hot. I saw his use of the “F” word as he related it to children and contributions of Catholic parishioners and was appalled that such a statement would be made. This experience stoked a fire somewhere inside me and made me want to fight. I felt the urge to do anything I could to counter this flow of sewage. I may not have an audience, but I will not stop speaking. Apathy can creep in at any time, but as long as I can go to Huffington Post and read the thoughts of the morally bankrupt, I am likely to remain inspired.

Senate Hearing On July 17 Re: Ramos & Compean

I saw a news flash from Eagle Forum this morning which called for the citizens to act once again. Everyone that believes justice is not being served by the prosecution and imprisonment of our border guards should once again call their senators!
Senate Hearing Schedule

10 a.m.

    Judiciary
To hold hearings to examine the prosecution of Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean.
                                                      SD-226

I also saw a confirmation of my support of Duncan Hunter and Tom Tancredo in the same article at Eagle Forum. Duncan Hunter introduced HR 563 on January 18 and it has 100 co-sponsors, including Tancredo. This bill is called the: “Congressional Pardon For Border Patrol Agents Compean And Ramos Act.”

Concerned citizens have the opportunity to once again be heard. Please call your Senators today!

Lesson Learned From Take Back America: Voters Are Stupid!

The first article I read today was about Drew Westen, a psychologist and brain researcher that was at “Take Back America” to teach Democrats how to connect with the emotions of the American people.

http://www.latimes.com/news/politics/la-na-guru9jul09,0,3671214.story?coll=la-home-center

Then I read about Cindy Sheehan’s threat to run against Nancy “The Big Tuna” Pelosi if she doesn’t seek to impeach President Bush by July 23.

http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2007/7/8/170843.shtml?s=ic

Was Cindy Sheehan at “Take Back America?” She would run as an independent but she would seem to be the model Westen advises the Democrats to follow. The perfect candidate would tug the nation’s heartstrings while not intimidating the unwashed masses with a seemingly superior intellect. Yes, Ms. Sheehan would seem the ideal challenge given that she possesses the attributes that appear to be key: a strong hatred of Bush and pure emotion. Nancy Pelosi on the other hand, has the money, hypocrisy, and lust for power that seem to define a successful liberal politician.

I did agree with Westen to some degree. He said:

“Positive and negative emotions are not the flip side of each other,” Westen told his Washington audience. “They are neurologically distinct, and that means you’ve got to control four things: positive feelings toward your candidate, negative feelings toward your candidate, positive feelings toward your opponent and negative feelings toward your opponent. So if you just go negative — or positive, as the Kerry team decided to do — you are ceding half the brain to the opposition.

Every time I heard Kerry speak, I didn’t think he sounded like his brain was intact.

Apparently Al Gore focused too much on information and details while not connecting with America’s heart. The Goreacle was just too smart for his own good, but what should be expected of the man that invented the internet, inspired “Love Story,” and subsequently rose to the high priesthood of liberalism’s latest religion?

Democrats, if you want to win the 08 general election, you need not present ideas or plans. Bring sad stories of hardship and suffering. Preach to each of your victim classes how they need you and cannot stand on their own. Show the masses that they are entitled to be cared for by the government. With a tear in your eye and choking back a sob, explain that no tax is too great to provide care for those that do not want the responsibility for themselves.

Protect Potential Victims Of Rape, Murder, etc…Secure The Border And Enforce The Law!

I was browsing the headlines on The Drudge Report and this one caught my eye:

Illegal immigrant is accused of raping 15 year old hours after being released from jail

Juan Villa has been in the Maury County Jail 11 times since 2001. “Villa is suspected of being in the country illegally and George said the department had contacted Immigration and Customs Enforcement about him before he was released from jail but the federal agents said they would deal with him later.”

This is the hard-working man who wants to obey our laws and earn a living that Ted Kennedy, John McCain, George Bush, Harry Reid, and Lindsay Graham want to protect! If this is not the man they wish to protect then they will ignore La Raza, business interests, and the president of Mexico and close our border!

They will detain people suspected of being here illegally whenever they are caught (for whatever reason they are caught!)
“We should have greater concern for protecting those who might be innocent victims of violent crime than for those who commit such crimes.” Richard Nixon said that. Harry Reid might add to it: “unless those who commit such crimes are in the shadows.”
There is absolutely no excuse for a repeat arrest of an illegal alien. Those that would complain about profiling are in effect encouraging the crimes that these illegals commit. A very basic question exists and is not asked often enough. What kind of person or organization puts the rights of suspected criminals above those of innocent victims? We must not continue to allow the free flow into our nation.

We must not continue to allow the men and women we elected to do what is best for their short-sighted self interests at the expense of innocent citizens.

We must not continue to flush tax dollars into the sewer that festers in Washington D.C.
We must elect representation on issues and integrity and not on birth-right or name recognition.

We must not allow illegal aliens or felons to vote.

We must examine the ways in which our taxes have been wasted!

We must demand that spending be confined to security, defense, and other items specified in The

United States Constitution!

How many rape victims, drunk driving fatalities, murdered citizens, and displaced American workers will there need to be before our “royalty” in

Washington decides that the American people should take precedence over special interests?
