Do you owe Bill Clinton an apology?
Some Republicans may owe former president and possible future first adulterer, B. J. Clinton and apology. As distasteful as the idea of saying “I’m sorry” to a man that would seem more at home running a porn magazine than a government might be to many Republicans, it might be the right thing to do. Curious if you fall into the unpleasant category of those who should be apologizing to the accused rapist? The following test will determine if you should be sending your regrets:
1. Did you take issue with Bill Clinton’s infidelity and sleazy personal behavior while he held our nation’s highest office?
2. Was your umbrage based solely on the fact that President Clinton committed perjury?
3. Are you joining the Republican elite in trying to force the voters to swallow the “Giuliani is our only hope” poison?
If you answered “yes” to questions #1 and #3 and no to question #2, then it would be appropriate for you to drop the former president a note of apology and maybe a nice box of cigars. That is, of course, unless the infidelity and sleazy personal behavior are only issues when committed by Democrats.
I hate to agree with Tim Russert of “Meet The Press” but he was absolutely correct to ask the former mayor of New York if it would be appropriate for a president’s mistress to be given Secret Service protection. Also, I am curious if (in light of the fact that his mistress was given personal chauffeur service by the NYPD) President Clintiani’s mistress would be flown to getaway spots in a military aircraft that would rival the one Nancy Pelosi was demanding earlier in the year.
