I've been a Republican for 45+ years. When I first became a member of the GOP, it stood for free enterprise, freedom, limited gov't, the KISS method if you will. Keep it simple studid. I found Republicans to mainly be, hardworkers, innovators, people who saved their money, people of principle, and above all, CONSERVATIVE.
Since that time, I've seen the party turn liberal by my standards. Liberals infiltrating the GOP like Communists infiltrating the campus of UC Berkeley. Today they have candidates running for president and other positions that could in fact be running on the Democrat Ticket. I'm watching people leave the Republican Party like rats leaving a sinking ship. They are the hard core conservative base. You know? The kind that say "let commonsense prevail"? We're done voting a straight Republican Ticket because we're tired of being screwed. You vote for someone who says they are conservative, and the next thing you know the are caving into the liberals, like GHWB did. Or like GW pushing for amnesty and having lunch with the likes of Ted Kennedy, and Feinstein. Talk about caving into the LIBS? Then they are shoving Socialism down our throats. No, I'm sorry, to me this is not Republican nor Conservative. This is not American. The Republican Party that I joined believed in Capitalism, taking the initiative, ambition, owning your property not being a slave to a loan sharking mortgage company, having a savings account not a credit card. The current party has been infiltrated to the point that it makes me feel uncomfortable. No more free rides from me.
