Lead By Example, Or Shut Up!

There is little chance that the three liberals running for president along with the other notable morons that preach the gospel of liberalism from their various pulpits will succumb to common sense and allow for the limited self-government our founding fathers intended. Perhaps it is not too much to ask that if they would lead, they do so by example. Demonstrated leadership would at least give these egomaniacs a shot (albeit a long one ) at credibility on their pet issues.

The Republican candidates inappropriately named “Straight Talk Express” must not have stopped to pick up his wife’s tax returns. Cindy McCain “will never” release her tax returns as a matter of privacy. Apparently face lifts can squeeze the brain if Mrs. McAmnesty doesn’t think the candidate’s financial situation is open for consideration. Does she actually believe that Teresa Heinz-Kerry is the ideal role model for potential first ladies? Call me crazy, but I believe it is important to know where a presidential candidate gets his money. McCain is the self-appointed model of propriety and believes money and influence should be removed from all politics. He went so far as to restrict the free speech of individual citizens by way of McCain-Feingold for the supposed purpose of preventing huge campaign contributions and expected favors in return. I contend that a motivating factor in the travesty known as McCain-Feingold was the hope that if all voices other than the media were restricted, the media’s favorite “maverick” could finally attain the object of his lust, the Republican nomination. The legislation has served its purpose, can we repeal it now? How about a little transparency Senator? Or is that one of those “do as I say, not as I do” items? The fact that the McAmnesty’s have always filed separate tax returns means absolutely nothing unless we are so stupid as to believe that the senator has lived off and only benefited from his own money! What kind of marriage is theirs? Do they live in separate houses, Cindy in one paid for by her, and John in one paid for by him? Is Senator McCain a kept man? The point is that Cindy McCain’s income and donations could indeed influence Senator or President McCain’s decisions and therefore should be open to scrutiny!

Yesterday’s Washington Post trumpeted: “McCain Pushed Land Swap That Benefits Backer” and well they should. If McCain had any influence at all over the land swap that benefits one of his large supporters, his hypocrisy should be vetted. This is Mr. Clean, after all. This is the man who claimed his own weakness toward temptation inspired him to assume everyone lacked the character to respect his or her position of power, and thus we were sentenced with McCain-Feingold (giving him the benefit of the doubt and assuming that its complete purpose wasn’t to assure his eventual nomination.) There is no reason or room for favors to donors by any public official, period!

Does LaRaza know that McAmnesty got the message on the border? Is that what he will address when he speaks to “The Race” later this year? He has been slipping “comprehensive immigration reform” back into statements and interviews lately, which only makes sense… since he has secured the nomination and can be at least a little more honest. Who believed that he would ever secure the border and not revive McCain-Kennedy? I think it was P.T. Barnum that indicated that one of you was born every minute.

This unusually cool May seems like a good time for McCain to plan a Global Warming campaign tour. I assume Senator McCain’s tour will be on an emissions-free bus? No, well I assume, at least he will not use electricity to magnify his voice. No? Well then, is he going to just solicit more donations from the base he detests in order to purchase offsets from Al Gore?

I continue to search for enough reasons to support McCain as the lesser of two evils, for that is the best case scenario at this point. Senator McCain continues to prove that the differences between him and his opponent are too minimal for comfort. So I humbly request that the campaign finance reform poster boy conductor of “The Double Talk Express” lead by example or shut the hell up!

I focused more on McCain than I originally intended, but he continues to apply the type of pressure that seems intended to break, or at least beat conservatives into submission. I also cling to the hope that The Republican nominee would at least be reasonable, thus the disappointment is magnified. Now to discuss the admitted Democrats, from whom no reasonable person expects anything reasonable.

Hillary Clinton wants to confiscate the “windfall profits” of the oil companies. (I was under the impression that the dollar wasn’t worth much these days, and if that is the case then the profits aren’t worth as much as the numbers would indicate if the dollar had value.) The oil companies are making a profit. Would they continue to supply oil if they were not allowed to profit? Unless Hillary “Chavez” Clinton intends to nationalize the oil companies and restrict supply, the answer is no. When Shillary screeches her artificial populist rhetoric, does she mention the $109 million she and Monica’s rapist boyfriend have made since releasing The White House from their clutches? The services of The Shrew and The Perjuring Rapist must be valuable indeed if none of that $109 million was profit! I’d ask Hillary to lead by example or shut the hell up, but Tuesday’s narrow victory in The Indiana Primary may have rendered her inconsequential and finally suffocated her air of inevitability.

Barack Obama, champion of wine and cheese tasters was recorded lamenting the fact that ordinary people don’t support him. In what could be described as a rare moment of “straight talk,” Barry O enlightened his upper crust supporters to the fact that, in his opinion the little people were bitter which would explain their clinging to “guns and religion.” The statement demonstrates the superficial quality of Barry’s “Christianity,” a religion he apparently uses for appearances and vote solicitation. This would explain how he could be so supposedly blissfully ignorant of Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s radical orations. When Barack was in church, and assuming he saw no camera around, he probably put in his ear buds and read a little Marx to soothe his soul. His statement made it clear that religion is something hopeless people cling to because their lives are so miserable and worthless.

Barry holds his nose in the air at the thought that American citizens exercise 2nd amendment guaranteed rights to bear arms. Again this is something to which miserable commoners “cling.” Odd that he seems to be content with the notion of bombing The Pentagon, The Capitol, and police buildings to protest our own government. In fact, former domestic terrorist and member of The Weather Underground, Bill Ayers is just an English Professor at UIC in Barry O’s humble opinion. Sure they sat on a board together, and yes they gave a couple of speeches together, but what does that matter? Ignore the fact that in order to launch his campaign for The Illinois Senate in seedy Chicago politics style, Barry O had to appear at the home of Bill Ayers and his equally repulsive wife Bernadine Dohrn to seek their stamp of approval. One gets the impression that these terrorists are like royalty in Chicago politics and must knight any Democrat that hopes to succeed! The parents that pay tuition to UIC should probably be very concerned about the quality and substance of their children’s education.

Barry has one magic trick that he expects to play over and over to avoid the remote possibility that he might be expected to engage in the obviously beneath him activity of discussing issues, policy, and detailed solutions. This is actually a card trick, the Race card” to be precise. You may recall that he also told his elite San Fransicko supporters that the little white people have “antipathy for people who are different from them.” They are racist if they don’t support the candidate of “change,” who transcends race.

Maybe thoughtful commoners just recoil at the notion of supporting the most liberal senator in the U.S. Senate and one of the most despicable supporters of the most gruesome late term abortion practices in public office. From The Illinois Federation For Right to Life:

Democrats won control of the state Senate in November 2002, and when Born Alive was reintroduced for the third time in 2003, it was directed to the Obama-chaired, infamously liberal Health and Human Services Committee, where he simply refused to call it for a vote.

By this time Obama was running for U.S. Senate. He won his primary in March 2004, and Republicans recruited former U.N. Ambassador Alan Keyes, who lived in Maryland, to oppose him. It was Obama’s position against Born Alive that persuaded Keyes to run, as he stated in his announcement speech:

“When I was first approached about this possibility… I have to say that my reaction was negative…. What finally caught my eye, however… what finally arrested my attention and forced me to consider whether I not only had the opportunity to oppose him, but the obligation… was when I learned that (Obama) had actually, in April 2002, apparently cast a vote that would continue to allow live birth abortions in the state of Illinois … .

“We are talking about a situation in which, in the course of an abortion procedure, a child has been born alive — is out of the womb, breathing and living on its own — and he cast a vote against the idea that we should not stand by and let that child die!”

Obama’s cavalier attitude toward the unborn should come as no surprise to those that heard him refer to a potential grandchild of his as a punishment to his daughter should she make a mistake and find herself pregnant. For the sake of our children and our liberty, Barry please lead by example, or better yet, shut the hell up!

The Washington Post: Promoting Illegal Immigration Daily and Twice On Sunday

(Note: this is also posted at Right Side News under the editorial section.)

I receive two daily e-mails from The Washington Post, one with “news” headlines and the other with political headlines and editorials. Given the Post’s reputation for being a typical liberally biased newspaper, I fully expect to see immigration sob stories or other reports detailing the plight of downtrodden illegal aliens and the vicious laws that restrict them when I read these e-mails, but today’s offering was a double dose. One article is the usual fare detailing the bad people that want illegal immigration laws enforced and the subsequent ill will and damage to the community caused by the desire for order and lawfulness. The other article bemoaned the border fence and its possible impact on plants and animals.

It seems Prince William County in Virginia has become an example of how not to deal with illegal immigration. The Washington Post’s preferred method for communities coping with the problem of illegals is more of a “hands off” approach or more specifically, a “not at all” approach. Kristen Mack wrote an article titled “Immigration Fight Has New Target, Stewart Hurts Pr. Williams’ Prospects With Harsh Rhetoric Some Say.” The target of this fight is Corey Stewart, Prince William County Board of Supervisors Chairman. The following excerpt from Ms. Mack’s article paints a grim picture of ill will in Prince William County:

When Prince William Board of County Supervisors Chairman Corey A. Stewart dressed down the police chief for hosting a public meeting with the Mexican consul to discuss the county’s controversial immigration policy, Elena Schlossberg-Kunkel was appalled.

Elected officials and business leaders in Prince William say they are worried that the county’s focus on illegal immigration is hurting Prince William’s image at a critical time in its growth and effort to remake itself.

Virginia’s second-largest county had been known for years as a center of cheap housing and bargain shopping. But in recent years, Prince William leaders have tried to change course by attracting high-tech employers, building luxury homes and supporting good schools much as neighboring Loudoun and Fairfax counties have done.

Now, several supervisors in both parties and business leaders said, those efforts could be set back if county officials do not shift their focus from illegal immigration, which has divided the community and brought Prince William negative national exposure. (”The Road to Dystopia,” one newspaper said of the crackdown.)

Apparently Prince William County should shift its focus from the illegal alien issue. One wonders why the board of supervisors would have passed the “controversial immigration policy” if there hadn’t been a problem with illegal immigrants in that particular county. Of course the need for and events preceding the passage of the policy are not to be considered by The Washington Post, for they do not further the agenda. All that will be presented is opinion and the arguments that support demonizing the advocates for tough policies for dealing with ILLEGAL immigrants. The Post, like the other entities that seek to portray theses situations as anti-immigrant chooses to intentionally avoid the most important adjective that describes the targeted immigrants: ILLEGAL! These disinformation dissemination devices do occasionally slip the word “illegal” into their text, but not often enough to accurately depict the fact that these policies and laws are not “anti-immigrant.”

The Post also actively ignores the fact that Prince William County’s national exposure has not been entirely negative. It is true that the most widely read and heard exposure is negative due to the liberal media its place of prominence in reporting. Those of us that find alternative sources of information have heard positive reports regarding the county’s policies. As a matter of fact, negative national exposure at the hands of liberal vessels such as The Washington Post is the goal of this particular article. Chairman Stewart seems to be doing his job as opposed to giving in to the pro-illegal liberal agenda and therefore the liberal press views him as a threat. The more effective and outspoken someone like Stewart is, the harder the press must try and silence or discredit him. If they are not successful in destroying the credibility of public officials that strive to do the right things and uphold the laws regarding illegal aliens, then others may follow. The Washington Post editors would really have its work cut out for them if the majority of counties across the nation took the problem of illegal immigration seriously.

The anti-enforcement movement at The Post does not limit its focus to personal sob stories and the effects on humans. Roxanne de Luca, filling in at Haemet (www.conservablogs.com/haemet) wrote a great piece on the fence story Environmentalists Throwing Themselves Under the Bus :

The Washington Post reported that the border fence between the United States and Mexico may damage the environment. (Story here.) Specifically, the fence may prevent various animals and plants from crossing the border and mating. (The WaPo was unclear on how plants, which are not locomotive, would be affected by a fence.) Some environmentalists are so incensed that the pronghorn and long-nose bat will be affected by the Bush Administration’s policies that they are threatening civil disobedience.

The environmentalists want to allow for the free flow of illegals across our southern border because stemming that flow would harm the terrain and possibly have an affect on plants and animals in the area. The article referenced by Roxanne, written by Juliet Eilperin is titled “Researchers Fear Southern Fence Will Endanger Species Further.”

“This wall is so asinine, and so wrong, I am one of a dozen scientists ready to lay our bodies down in front of tractors,” Healy Hamilton, who directs the Center for Biodiversity Research and Information at the California Academy of Sciences, told colleagues at a recent scientific retreat here. “This is one thing we might be able to stop.”

“Make it 13!” said Allison Jones, a conservation biologist at the Wild Utah Project, an advocacy group.

Hamilton and Jones have yet to throw themselves before bulldozers, but their call to arms reflects the researchers’ growing fears that the wall will imperil species that, in Hamilton’s words, “walk, fly or crawl across that border.”

The environmentalists appear to show deep concern for the environment as long as one only looks at part of the situation. That is unless the trash and backpacks left behind by the people sneaking over the border pose no threat to the environment. I am also curious how a fence will affect those species that would fly “across that border.” That must be one tall fence!

These enviro-nuts embody the typical liberal mindset, the central tenet of which is gross hypocrisy. Much like pro-abortion activists that oppose the death penalty for criminals while advocating its use on the most innocent, these activists choose a side of an issue and ignore the environmental impact of the immoral or illegal behavior they support. This is definitely in line with Al Gore jet-setting around the world to reduce carbon emissions or the Clintons opposing all wealth… other than that of themselves their closest friends.

I wonder if The Washington Post and the environmentalists would be satisfied if the border fence was constructed with recycled materials and built by illegals? It might work out as long as they are on the Southern side of the fence once it is completed.

Is McCain trying to woo Democrats?

I have been trying to come to terms with the fact that there is no conservative candidate remaining in the race for the Republican nomination for president. The quest for acceptance of the current political situation is continually being undermined by Senator John McCain.

McCain said some good things in his economy speech April 15 at Carnegie Mellon University, but as I believe Mike Church pointed out on his Sirius radio show this week, the following statement would easily adhere to Marx’ “Communist Manifesto”:

Many retired Americans face the terrible reality of deciding whether to buy food, pay rent or buy their prescriptions. And their government should help them. But when we added the prescription drug benefit to Medicare, a new and costly entitlement, we included many people who are more than capable of purchasing their own medicine without assistance from taxpayers who struggle to purchase their own. People like Bill Gates and Warren Buffet don’t need their prescriptions underwritten by taxpayers. Those who can afford to buy their own prescription drugs should be expected to do so. This reform alone will save billions of dollars that could be returned to taxpayers or put to better use.

The statement has a very “to each according to his need, from each according to his ability” tone to it. This statement was made after he had railed against high CEO salaries and indicated that regular Americans were confused in the mortgage process (apparently needing government guidance as we are too stupid to support ourselves and our families.)

Then he chose to top off his week of Democrat politician emulation by pulling a shady tax return release move. “The Straight Talk Express” stops here (if it ever actually rolled, that is.) The 17th wealthiest member of Congress released only his last two years of tax returns and refused to release those of his wealthy wife. This ploy is disgusting on more than one level. I can’t help but wonder what this man is thinking.

  • The “privacy” of his wife’s returns inevitably lead one to the conclusion that he is hiding something or at the very least, he wants to maintain a false public image of his financial situation. Either reason is dishonest and unethical.
  • Perhaps he believes that given the state of the admitted Democrats contest, his best shot at wooing Democrat voters is to out-sleaze the two admitted Dems. This tactic might work since Democrat voters have shown a willingness to vote for candidates with shady pasts that seem to be actively engaged in public deceit.

I was trying not to question the man’s integrity. I knew many of his positions were detestable or half-hearted (like his pro-life stance,) but I tried to believe that he had integrity even though he was so often wrong. This tax return ploy dashes all hope that McCain is at least more honest than his remaining (big party) opponents. What is he trying to hide? Does he believe that his election is inevitable and he can get away with such an openly dishonest move?

It seems that McCain might get some perverse pleasure out of putting his party and his supporters into tough situations. He has a record of fighting his party and conservatism. How are his supporters to be expected to deal with this latest and obvious trap? He is the only Republican candidate, therefore Republican supporters and commentators have three choices:

  1. Ignore the deceit and hope no one brings it up, because if it is brought up they will have to resort to choice number 2 or number 3.
  2. Spin the “privacy” angle and try to cope with the intellectual dishonesty inherent in pretending that McCain’s wife is separate financially from McCain, himself. Of course there is also the ethical problem of the ridiculous and obvious double standard this argument would present.
  3. Honestly express concern over this ploy and request that Senator McCain ascend to a level of honesty that would fit his “Straight Talk” mantra. Speak out against this deception by omission and fight for transparency.

Honesty in politics would be a refreshing change. Why is it that more people (even those who complain that politicians are liars and crooks) would not support a politician that didn’t come across as a salesman?

John McCain is wrong on illegal aliens, although now he says he will secure the border before granting amnesty to the 12 to 20 million illegals here. He is for further loss of manufacturing jobs in name of anthropogenic global warming reversal. John McCain is wrong on embryonic stem cell research and chose to defend his law restricting free speech against a Wisconsin pro-life organization. His McCain-Feingold free speech restricting campaign finance reform seems tailor made to give him the Republican nomination (which worked for him.) He is wrong on so many issues, a principled conservative must struggle to decide how he or she could support him. Continued assaults on the intelligence of the electorate only make the choice that much more difficult.

Are all Democrats dumb?

What motivates a person to become a modern Democrat? It is hard to fathom that some degree of either ignorance or evil is not involved in the formation of a Dem. Think for a moment about what it means to be a Democrat political figure.

Exhibit A:

Charles “Up Chuck” Schumer, the senior senate leach from New York and supporter of Shillary Clinton’s bid for the presidency, shockingly got in front of a TV camera last week to complain about the FAA. Chucky had his finger on the pulse of airline passengers stranded by the grounding of American Airlines flights. You see the FAA is as incompetent as FEMA, according to Schumer. These federal agencies continue to screw up and make the lives of citizens worse!

While I agree that most federal agencies are largely worthless and wasteful, the point here is that this moron and most Democrats want to turn the healthcare of this nation’s citizens over to a bureaucratic federal agency like the FAA or FEMA! This my friends, is a true Democrat thought process in action!

Exhibit B:

Noted thespian and father of the year candidate, Alec “The Blob” Baldwin poses a scary thought in his latest blog entry at HuffPo. His post is titled: “Who Can Beat McCain?

Alec seems to share B. Hussein Obama’s disdain for the average citizen:

McCain is another right-wing, retro, deficit-loving, never-seen-a-defense-appropriation-I-didn’t-like tool. But there are a lot of people in this dumbed-down country that will buy that. They want to turn the clock back. To what, I don’t know.

I wonder if those are the same people in “this dumbed-down” country” that are so bitter they cling to guns and religion. (I also wonder if B. Hussein was bitter when he found Reverend “G—damn America” Wright.) Alec the intellectual giant is worried about “this dumbed-down” country as if it his his own child. Of course he leaves nasty, vile voice mails for his own child. Anyway, Alec The Great closes his post with this terrifying vision:

PS: One possible consequence of an Obama presidency? Supreme Court Justice Hillary Clinton. Dang, that sounds good.

Run for your lives! I can’t remember the last time I read something that scary. Alec should collaborate with Stephen King some time. The bulbous Baldwin thinks that nightmare scenario would actually be a good thing so I am reminded of “Team America: World Police” and its Kim Jong-Il character aptly noting: “You are worfress Arec Baldwin!”

Exhibit C:

Former president and accused rapist, B. J. Clinton continues to “campaign” for his wife in ways seemingly designed to ensure her defeat. Headline from The New York Times: “Bill Clinton Revives Bosnia Gaffe.”

Not only did he resurrect a subject that his wife no doubt wishes everyone would forget, but he rushed to her defense with a series of inaccuracies. He also suggested that his wife, who is running for president in part on her preparedness to handle emergencies in the middle of the night, might have forgotten details of the incident because she was 60, forgetful and tired.

“When they’re 60,” he said of reporters who, he believes, have overdramatized the episode, “they’ll forget something when they’re tired at 11 o’clock at night, too.”

If only Shillary had made the comments only once and at 11 o’clock at night, then the rapist might not look like such a campaign saboteur. In his defense, might I suggest that he knows his wife of political expediency as they have been technically married for a long time and therefore he may be doing what is in the bests interest of this nation by undermining her campaign. I know it is a stretch but it is at least possible that at some point in time even the rapist might do something for the good of the country.

Exhibit D:

B. Hussein Obama’s entire campaign.

Michelle Obama has never had cause to be proud of her country in her entire adult life until now. She and her husband have been held down by their race, you see. This explains their Ivy League educations, high paying jobs, and Barack’s meteoric rise to serious (only in that he might win) contender for the presidency of The United States of America.

Barack lied about his grandmother and her supposed racist leanings as a “typical white person” to deflect attention from the notion that while he had been a member of Jeremiah Wright’s church for over twenty years, he had never heard him disparage America. I guess Barack was listening to his I-pod when his “moral compass” was expressing rage and hatred toward the country and white people.

If B. Hussein doesn’t pay attention in church, that at least explains how he can view religion as something a bitter and frustrated person might “cling” to. Apparently an Ivy League educated son of a white woman needs to “cling” to Black Liberation Theology in order to attain an appropriate level of credibility as a black person.

How surprised was anyone to hear that B. Hussein would view his own grandchild as a punishment if one of his daughters made a mistake and got pregnant? This man voted against protecting babies that had been born alive (botched abortions) while in the Illinois Senate!

All this and we are told we cannot look at his associations and make judgments of his character, even though his career in office has not produced much of a record to examine. We are instructed to ignore his friendship with Tony Rezko and how he obtained the property adjoining his own. We are expected to believe any decent American would knowingly sit on a board with “Weather Underground” member William Ayres, who freely admits and shows no remorse for his role in bombing The Pentagon among other places.

“Hope and “change” are all we need to know about this man and his plans. That may be the best campaign strategy because if he was open about plans “for” change I doubt any but the most clueless Democrat would support him.

U.S.D.C.P. - United States Dept. of Consequence Prevention

The United States Senate and House of Representatives have come together to float a sweeping bi-partisan plan to provide every citizen, immigrant, and illegal alien his or her constitutional right to consequence avoidance. This move comes as no surprise to observers that have noticed our government’s steady leftward march. Our re-branding as the U.S.S.A. became more of a reality with this new initiative.

Fans of government control and power of the state will be rejoicing in the streets as a result of the creation of a new cabinet level position, Secretary of Consequence Prevention. The Department of Consequence Prevention will have the challenging but rewarding task of ensuring that the electorate of this nation never have to endure any consequence which might result directly or indirectly from a decision or action.

The cost of this plan will be deliciously enormous since there is no price to high for the protection of the little people. To ensure that the cost is covered as fully as possible the IRS will be collecting 100% of each wage earner’s pay at the end of each pay period. This should not be cause for concern as retailers and service providers will no longer be allowed to charge for their services. It seems unlikely that anyone would take more than his or her share of any free service or good, but there will be armed federal agents at each store and business just in case.

You might be having trouble envisioning how this will work so here is an example of a typical morning of a citizen reaping the new protective benefits:

Sam wakes up to the gentle nudges of the Secret Service agent assigned to his home. The agent must wake Sam up to prevent the risk of electrical shock that could result from Sam hitting the snooze button of his electric clock radio with an unprotected hand.

Sam swings his legs over the side of the bed and stands with the help of the agent. Sam and the agent walk with a “flooping” sound (created by the agent’s non-slip suction sole shoes) to the bathroom where the agent inspects the shower to ensure that the non-slip surface, grab bars, and temperature controls meet HO-SHA (Home Safety and Health Administration) standards. The agent then inspects the toilet to ensure that there are no pinch points and gives the all clear.

The agent escorts Sam from the bathroom back to the bedroom, where the gray uniform of the resident is hanging. The agent shields his eyes with one hand while holding onto Sam with the other as Sam dons the approved attire. Once dressed, Sam sits on the bed and zips up his own non-slip suction sole shoes. (Note that there are no laces, therefore no potential tripping hazard.) Sam stands with the help of the agent and they “flop, flop” to the kitchen.

Sam prepares his instant oatmeal with room temperature water and offers the agent a room temperature cup of Uncle Sam’s instant de-caffeinated coffee. The agent politely declines and waits patiently for Sam to finish. Sam’s toothbrush and toothpaste ration are next to his bowl and a 2 ounce cup of water is also waiting to help Sam fight the dangers of tooth decay and gingivitis (not to mention oatmeal halitosis.) The agent informs Sam that the transport has arrived.

Sam boards the transport and takes a seat. Once his harness is secure, the driver signals the forward escort and the procession moves on to the next pick up point. Eventually Sam arrives at work and is escorted to his station by a U.S. Marshall who will monitor the conditions under which Sam is expected to perform.

Okay, so the preceding did not happen, but given that states like Illinois don’t allow bar owners to decide if smoking can occur in their establishments (while allowing statutory rapists to bring their under age victims across state lines for abortions) and the fact that some in government feel compelled to alleviate the consequences of poor mortgage decision making, it is sadly not all that far-fetched.

President McCain: Side Effect

I am enduring an internal struggle, one that I believe is somewhat common among principled conservatives. A series of unfortunate events that would make Lemony Snicket cringe have occurred and left The Republican Party with John McCain as the presumptive nominee. John McCain is in many ways the adversary to conservatives, a role he seems to relish. We, as conservatives face a conundrum and there is no attractive resolution.

Some conservatives suspend intellectual honesty and support John McCain, period. He is the Republican nominee and if you are speaking ill of his record you are betraying your party. Some of these conservatives would guilt their conservative peers into silence by putting forth the American troops as victims (How could you subject them to President Shrillary or B. Hussein?) or they present The Supreme Court as a ticking bomb that only a Republican, no matter how liberal, can defuse.

John McCain the veteran and P.O.W. is beyond reproach… but separate from John McCain the politician and senator. The list will be shorter if I focus on his positives so here goes:

  • He is more pro-life than the two socialists running for the Democrat nomination, even though his stance on embryonic stem cell research is deplorable and his fight against Wisconsin Right To Life was a disgrace.
  • He is stronger on national defense than the wife of the rapist or Rev. Wright’s disciple, even though his defense of our nation only seems to exist overseas.
  • With McCain we stand the chance to get constructionist judges nominated to The Supreme Court, even though this will likely be accidental if it occurs.
  • He seems to be genuinely against wasteful government spending.

So what is one to do? The idea of a Clinton or an Obama presidency is incredibly frightening while the idea of a McCain presidency is potentially scary. While it is possible that Republicans in congress will fight against the policies of either socialist, there is no guarantee (just look at Republicans like McCain.) There is also the possibility that the next presidency is bound to be a disaster given the three remaining candidates and the opposition party might gain in the following election. If that is the case, a disaster with the Republican McCain at the helm benefits the left and further damages the conservative cause.

Obama and Clinton, in my opinion cannot be considered as reasonable choices for the presidency. I view either presidency as a great societal disease that needs to be prevented. This means that in my opinion, a John McCain presidency is an unfortunate side effect, something like the gas with oily discharge that is identified in the Xenical advertisements.

Rapist tells Democrats to “relax and let this happen.”

Members of the Democrat Party must find it comforting to be told to “relax and let this happen” by a known rapist. Of course, now there are Democrats that may not defend Bill Clinton against credible allegations of rape as B. Hussein Obama has captured the hearts and what passes for the minds of many Democrat dolts. So the rapist has a new target, his own party.

This time, at least, his victim isn’t innocent. The party that fights for abortion on demand, amnesty for illegals, defeat in Iraq, punitive taxing of the productive, and strangling regulation of business can not be viewed as a sympathetic victim. The Democrat Party strife is something of a consolation prize to some of us conservatives that are absolutely disgusted with the continued downward spiral of The Republican Party. It is tragic that our nominee fights for two of the previously mentioned pillars of leftist ideology.

So McCain-Feingold and open primaries ensured that The Republican Party would not have a conservative candidate, back to the admitted Democrats. What will it take to settle the nomination? Certainly Shrillary Clinton believes she has a right to the nomination and the office. She did not marry the rapist because she loved him and she definitely didn’t stay married to him for the sake of the junior campaigner (Chelsea.) I can’t imagine what would precede her concession. I doubt she could muster a concession. If B. Hussein Obama is declared the nominee I am envisioning a moment similar to the awarding of the gold jacket to Happy Gilmore and Shooter McGavin grabbing it and running away being chased by angry Gilmore fans. I hope she does not go down without a fight.

Aside from the entertainment value of the “Deathmatch” between Shrillary and B. Hussein, there may be a positive outcome for the nation. If the fight leaves the Democrat Party torn badly enough, the notion that there can only be two dominant parties might weaken. If The Republican Party can wake up to the idea that emulating the Democrat Party may not be in the best interest of itself or the country, we might eventually get decent representation. At the very least, a torn Democrat Party might allow a torn Republican Party to spawn a viable conservative coalition that can refocus the nation toward freedom and limited government.

It is incredible that I find myself wanting Shrillary to stay in the race. My hope that the two-headed big government party system may be broken as an unintended consequence of the Clintons’ latest rape may not have much chance of being realized, but at least I have some glimmer of hope. (Disclaimer: I did not get permission from B. Hussein’s campaign to use the word “hope.”)

What else can the benevolent government save us from?

I have been saddened to hear and read cries for the government to interfere in the personal lives of the people that live in this country. One such cry to emulate Hugo Chavez comes from the business section of the L.A. Times:

One way to balance government assistance to participants in the credit crisis — whether it’s branded a bailout or a rescue — is to link it to tighter regulation of lenders and borrowers.

These can include strict capital requirements for investment banks that have accepted Fed money, underwriting standards for mortgages and consumer loans to prevent imprudent lending and borrowing, and mandated disclosures of the risks of various loans and bundled securities.

The Washington Post takes a different approach, painting the mortgage situation as unfairly targeting poor hispanics that do not speak English (and apparently have no common sense.) In an article that should be read to sad violin music, titled “My House. My Dream. It Was All an Illusion.” the subtitle sets the tone:

Latina’s Loss in Va. Epitomizes Mortgage Crisis

I say we shouldn’t limit government interference to the current mortgage situation. People that entered into mortgages they couldn’t repay shouldn’t be the only ones to have their mistakes paid for by the taxpayers of this country. The possibilities for government interference see almost limitless. If we can just convince the federal and state governments to … well stay on their current paths, we can realize the socialist utopia that would make most Democrat politicians proud. Perhaps if the following suggestions are followed Michelle Obama might even be proud of her country.

I humbly ask that the United States government cut through the red tape and take the following actions (or interferences:)

  • Some college students enroll in classes that are too difficult for them. Their grades might be lower than some of their peers. This cannot be allowed to continue! We need The Department of Education to commission a study to determine the best method for grade equalization. Once the commission presents its findings to Congress, a law should be crafted to ensure that sufficient funds are directed to these institutions of mediocre learning to enable them to assign every student identical grades.
  • Some people lie on their resumes and accept jobs that they are not qualified to perform. Should these people be forced to leave those jobs once their incompetence is proven? Absolutely not! We are not humane if we allow these people to be cast from their positions by ruthless employers who expect to hire competent employees. The Department of Labor must commission a study to determine the best way to enable all job-seekers to use one universal resume. In addition, Congress must pass a law setting employment standards that eliminate qualifications as qualifications for employment.
  • What about people that buy a dozen eggs at their local grocery stores only to get them home and drop them on the driveway? What is to protect their investment? The Department of Commerce should obviously make recommendations to Congress requiring that the retailer be responsible for the safety of the eggs until the moment of consumption!
  • Some people fall victim to the climate and anthropogenic global warming when they purchase large ice cream cones that they cannot consume entirely before they begin to melt. Government action must be taken to ensure that the responsibility for the wasted ice cream and sticky hands be held by the predatory ice cream vendors!

We must take the steps necessary to ensure that we, the people bear no personal responsibility for any of our own actions. Working together we can ensure that we will all be wards of the state, taken care of and controlled by Mrs. Hillary-care Clinton or Mr. B. Hussein Obama.

How dare a state not reward illegal behavior with in-state tuition?

Imagine the horror of possibly having to work your way through college. Such a nightmare should be reserved for children of citizens, not for the offspring of left’s favorite group of people (illegal aliens.) As if it weren’t bad enough that these victims of society have to dwell in the shadows imposed by a cruel populace that believes that illegal acts should not be rewarded (unless there is a news camera around to pose for.) Now it seems that states like Virginia won’t allow their universities to reward the illegal aliens with in-state tuition for their children.

Excerpt from The Washington Post article:

Nelson Lopez is worried. He doesn’t want to get his father, who works in the warehouse of a carpet-and-blinds store, in trouble. And he’s really scared that when his adviser challenges the colleges on this point, he might be hurting his chances of admission — what applicant wants to pick a fight? He was just going to accept the situation, maybe get a job and take a bus from his dad’s apartment to classes at a community college, but Leyva was furious.

Isn’t it tragic that illegal aliens must suffer the shame of having their children get a job and attend community college… like an average American citizen’s child might? Illegal aliens, being the sought after voting block of the left should be treated better than this! Here are some suggestions for rewards that the three liberal front-runners in the presidential race may want to offer in order to woo the illegal vote:

- 0% financing for motor vehicle purchases for anyone that cannot prove citizenship.

- $5 worth of free lottery tickets every week for the next four years for everyone that does not have a valid social security number

- Fixed rate sub-prime mortgages for anyone meeting the above criteria and is also willing to display the Mexican flag above the U.S. flag outside the home.

- Front of the line placement when the time comes for NAU identification cards for anyone that provides evidence that aids in the conviction of any member of our border patrol.

Washington Post doesn’t know the meaning of the word “illegal”

The Washington Post Headline screams sob story. It reads “Latinos Looking Over Shoulder.”

According to the writers, day laborers in Prince William County can no longer get coffee in the morning or go to latino restaurants at lunch time. They all live in fear now that police are empowered to check immigration status when any infraction of the law is committed.

Immigrant advocate groups, speaking at a community meeting Sunday in Woodbridge and on local Spanish-language radio stations, have been advising immigrants without legal papers to keep a low profile and obey all traffic rules. If stopped by police, the groups said, they should be polite and show some identification but otherwise remain silent until they can see a lawyer.

“We are telling people to drive perfectly, not to spit or jaywalk, and not to carry anything in a brown paper bag,” said Nancy Lyhall, a volunteer with the local pro-immigrant group Mexicans Without Borders. “They should be the model of model citizens.”

What the Washington Post writers don’t seem to grasp is the fact that only illegal aliens have reason for concern. Hispanics in the country legally are being painted as victims of an oppressive and racist legal system. The obvious solution to any worries the affected group (illegal aliens) might have would be to not commit infractions. They should perhaps start by remedying the initial infraction they committed by entering the country illegally. The lowest profile is maintained by not being there.

The Washington Post may want to try a little intellectual honesty when reporting on enforcement of laws affecting illegal aliens only (this doesn’t include implying in the article that all hispanics should worry about being stopped and possibly deported for small infractions.)
