I can't remember the wording, but she basically said that while there are much bigger problems in the world than mistreatment of animals, she would bring more good to the world by championing that undermanned cause than she would as one of the thousands condemning those greater horrors. I don't support any of PETA's positions other than the general idea that you shouldn't cause pain to animals for fun or by your laziness. But I was happy to hear one of their creators sound so rational. She quickly ended my euphoria by saying she banned eating in her offices because she didn't want to have to kill roaches... but still. In Numbers 22:32, God made it clear that he was displeased when Balaam beat his donkey. Also, Proverbs 11:17 tells us: "The merciful man does good for his own soul, But he who is cruel troubles his own flesh." Therefore, not being a cruel person does not make you a looney liberal.
