This afternoon I am heading down to Washington, D.C., to hang out at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee Policy Conference (yes, that is quite a mouthful) until Tuesday night.
On the program:
Various policy briefings, panel discussions, and town hall meetings with topics like “How Israel Makes It’s Case to the World,” “Securing the Homeland: How Israel and America are Working Together to Keep Us Safe,” “Vital Votes: What the 2008 Elections Could Mean for the Pro-Israel Community,” “Jihad 101: Understanding Radical Islam and Its War Against the West,” and many more.
Speakers ranging from Pastor John Hagee, to Vice President Cheney (that’s right!) and Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, to Senators Lieberman, Reid, and McConnell, to Representatives Pelosi (oh yes) and Boehner. All the cool kids are pro-Israel. (And some of the non-cool ones as well, it would seem.)
I am ridiculously excited.

I envy you getting to see all the big guys (and gal).
Surprise, surprise about Reid and Pelosi, who just can’t wait to put a target date on the calendar, mingling about with the “cool kids.”
Be sure to tell the VP I said howdy!
Israel is a racist country. It has perhaps found a friend in America being that the United States also had a long racist history. AIPAC is the Jewish equivalent of the KKK. An organization for the advancement of Jewish people whom are among the worlds richest and most successful. I am not Jewish, and most of our politicians are not Jewish. But they sure as hell better do what AIPAC tells them too or face the lynching Jimmy Carter did. Lets keep it real here, people don’t support Israel because they want to they do it because they have too. The cool kids don’t support Israel anymore than the cool kids support George Bush. The cool kids support the common humanity we all share with all people. The cool kids never supported an agenda that entitled Jewish people to abuse the human rights of others. The cool kids know when the Jewish leadership pulls a holocaust cards there are plenty of holocaust going on right now that Israel can care less. All the rhetoric followed by solid legal arguments from the Jewish legal community and the Jewish intellectual community and the Jewish political Community. WOW Jewish people are doing great in America, but that by no means entitles that group to a RACIST agenda.
Honestly we do not get anything out unquestioning support for Israel other than a sustained threat of terrorism. I do not fear the terrorist as much as I fear the Israeli influence on American politics. One is certainly more likely to cause harm than the other. I do not understand why Jews choose to support a racist country after there long struggles with discrimination. Hitler would have been proud to garnish 44% of world support like Israel. He too would have said who cares if the other 56% of the world hates Israel, its only because they are not ARYAN. Jewish people who campaign so consistently against anti-Semitism then turn around and do everything in there power to inspire it short of putting on white hoods and burning down mosque, continue to milk the holocaust for every ounce of disproportionate sympathy humanly possible. The sad truth is the world is not buying it. AIPAC can continue to spew propaganda via the enormous Jewish American media establishment and rest of the planet will just choose to HATE AMERICA TOO!!!
Edward:
The benefit of supporting Israel:
Not sure if you believe in God or not, He does exist even if you don’t believe in Him. When He makes a promise, He keeps it. Abram (later called Abraham) had a son Isaac, who had a son Jacob. Later in his life, he too had a name change:
God selected this group of people as His people. Does that make Him racist? After His people rejected His Son as the Messiah, he opened up the door to all people of the earth, but He did not unchoose the people of Israel.
By the way, Abraham also had another son, which he went outside of God’s plan to get. Thus, the two step brothers were at odds with each other. Out of this other son came the nations who are Israel’s neighbors.
Why is it that all of Israel’s neighbors don’t need to show restraint, but Israel does? Though they are not perfect (just like the rest of humanity) God’s Word still stands.
Hi Scott,
Thanks for taking the time to respond to the guy above. Great answer by the way. God promises to bless nations that bless Israel and curse those that curse Israel. I love being on that blessed side of things.
Anyway, not sure when Tieki Rae will be checking her blog since she’s so busy with the DC big dogs
I don’t think she would like coming back to Edward’s comment, with no retort from anyone. She will be most appreciative of your comment.
Anyway, I guess VP Cheney has asked for a list of all the “cool kids” from WY. I think Tieki Rae might be one of three. Wouldn’t it be awesome if she gets to meet with him personally? The idea is exciting to me — cannot imagine how exciting it must be to her!
I figured the DC gig was going to put a damper on blog time, and besides, she got back to a comment on my blog before me (which I still have to do). My reply above is only scratching the surface of the reasoning. Might have to write more in a full-fledged post later on
Anyway, that would be way cool if your daughter gets to meet with the National Big Man from Wyoming (and since it seems there is a short list of cool kid attendees, it shouldn’t be a hard feat for the VP’s office).
I had the opportunity in Casper once to eat at the Subway located directly across from the federal building named after VP Cheney. Ironically enough, on the same side of the road as the Subway was the state Democrat Party HQ. Makes you wonder which was located there second to aggravate “the other side.”
Speaking of blog time dampers and getting back to comments, I’ll leave it at that for now….
Hi guys,
Early on, while learning about blogging, I seemed to attract the nastiest visitors, and when I would have my say with obviously lefty bloggers, I got the most vicious replies you can imagine.
Granted, I wasn’t as pleasant as I would try to be now because I wasn’t experienced at explaining myself and tended to be blunt and harsher than was necessary.
What I remember best were the anti-Israel, Jew hating screeds from total strangers. One person had a vt.edu email address, I’m thinking Vermont education, but maybe not. This person called the troops serving in Iraq idiots and retards for dying in the blood for oil criminal enterprise.
Another threatened to kill the President, and one woman called me a troll about every fourth word or so. I’m not thin skinned, and I understand hate from bitter, confused people. But, it amazes me that no filter, or pretense of civility is even attempted by the PC,multiculti crowd.
Teiki Rae, I’m jealous. I would love to be there for the conference.
Hang in there kiddo!
Scott, thanks for the link!
