Yeah, it actually upsets me when people start throwing around the "hate crime" term. A few years ago, there was a gang rape of a white girl by a group of black guys after a rap concert at Cornell. No one ever hears of that and it is definitely not considered a hate crime. I don't see how less hateful that is than a group of white guys raping a black girl. I think they are both equally horrific, violent, and hateful crimes. As a white woman, the idea that I would be less of a victim than a black woman actually scares me. :\ Thanks MZ.
