This made our local pre-Limbaugh, 1 hr. talk show, Speak Your Piece. Our news director was “the guest” and she said that it was much like the Presidential candidate that gives an answer completely unrelated to the question, but they reeeeealy wanted to speak about the subject they had an answer for but weren’t asked about.
I’m still puzzled how an American doesn’t know where America of all places is on a map. I can see maybe not knowing where some of “New Europe” countries are since many of them grew out of the old Soviet block, but America???

Scott - my guess is that there just isn’t much emphasis placed on geography anymore. Teachers are too busy trying to teach high schoolers to read at a kindergarten level. It’s pathetic. I also think that statistic may be misleading, but there’s obviously no way to know.
John - it’s a good thing you’re my friend! If anybody else had posted a comment like that, I’d be a lot meaner than I’m going to be.
I don’t care how “gorgeous” she or anyone else is. If you’re stupid you’re stupid, and if you’re smart you’re smart. Looks don’t matter. I don’t respect or value people because of their looks. In fact, (and perhaps this is shallow of me) I disrespect good looking people even more when they’re ugly on the inside. In her case, I think she’s a sweet girl… just dumber than a brick.
