wow! somehow I need to figure out why my blog stopped emailing me about comments.

Sam - I'm with you on the Chuck Schumer approval stamp. Automatically disqualified, as far as I'm concerned. And I'm at Cornell University although Cornell College is much closer to home! :)

Angel - Backbone would certainly be a good start!

Bridget and Mom - 2024! That's my year to run! ;)

All I can think of right now are dorky ones Bridget. And, I would get in some hot water if I dorked it out on Tieki's blog. :)

I do think a slogan contest sounds like fun though, don't you?

Tieki for president in 2024!!

Tammi, I'm with you on the lame duck period. This is the time to be really controversial. Force the Senate to filibuster or vote on highly qualified, highly conservative people. Throw egg on their faces if they refuse. Then, in 2008, have your party use the Dems lack of ability to vote on judges, AGs, etc against them. Say, for example, "Senate Democrats refused to vote on 25% of nominees, rejected 10%, and threatened to filibuster four Harvard grads, six University of Chicago grads, and two Yalies."

I'm not sure if the President understands the beauty of the lame duck period. Ted Olson would have been my choice too. Always remember Tieki, when you are President, you can choose whoever you want!

I personally believe anyone with Chuck Schumer's stamp of approval must be beyond reproach... of course I would also use Ted Kennedy as my designated driver.

Off subject, Tieki, do you go to Cornell University or Cornell College in Iowa? I only ask because my wife graduated from Cornell College in Iowa... in 1990.

I've been meaning to blog this, but Cornell is rather overwhelming this semester... to say the least, haha. As the nomination process works itself out, I'll be interested to hear more about this Mukasey guy. Apparently he has a strong record on terrorism cases... but my bad, I thought there was more to the American judicial system than terrorism. There are some rumors flying about his stance on abortion - like this
Lifenews.com story - but I don't think there is any strong evidence that he's pro-abortion. The case they cite seems to be legit enough.

Hopefully, when a Republican wins the White House again in '08, they'll have the good sense to put a person like Ted Olsen in the AG position. That's a lot of optimism, I'm afraid.
