I’m swamped with course readings right now, but not too swamped to vent a little of my frustration in the form of disorganized thoughts.
1. For those of you so convinced McCain will nominate strict constructionist, Constitution respecting federal judges and SCOTUS justices, how do you explain the Gang of 14?
2. In light of McCain’s shamnesty plan to ignore / encourage illegal immigration, how do you argue that he is strongest on national security?
3. When preaching to the social conservatives that McCain is pro-life, how do you explain his support of scientifically stagnant stem cell research that kills embryos?
Answer those questions honestly and clearly without meaningless rhetoric about Reagan or the precious Republican Party or the evil Clintons and B. Hussein Obama or how you think Ann Coulter is a liar. Convince me.
Addendum: Explain this too, please.
I hope I’m not being too demanding.

1. He won’t nominate strict constructionists.
2. He won’t secure the borders, at least until he’s created 10-20 million new Americans.
3. He won’t do anything on the abortion issue.
4. He won’t get my vote.

Well, it looks like my not-so-Super-Tuesday choices are Ron Paul or the Dem who scares me the least/we have the best chance of beating.

Feel free to leave comments @ Old Ford Road someday. My last post (which is excellent) covers many of these important issues, especially the Gang of 14 (which was simply a brilliant politcal move).
It is so strange that you think McCain too liberal, while real cool-aid drinking liberals like NARAL say McCain is dangerously pro-life.
Maybe you might explain that?

They cannot, and shall not, make me fill in his oval. I won’t do it. If he can win by appealing to moderates, independents, and Democrats, good luck to him. There’s elections in Wyoming where I know conservatism can win, and that’s where my focus will be.
Scott’s last blog post..This Hurts Me More Than it Hurts the Party
NARAL is strictly pro-abortion. McCain is against abortion (unless it interferes with the election of his liberal partners in crime…see the Wisconsin Right To Life case.) McCain is for federal funding for creating human embryos to be destroyed in research.
His justice appointments would likely be expected to uphold McCain-Feingold. Such justices would not likely strictly adhere to the Constitution.
It is really too bad Jim Jeffords jumped from the Republican Party when he did. If he had just waited, McCain could have done it when he wanted to without looking look like a follower. Had this happen ed, we might not be face with choosing between Democrat with a “D”, third party, or Democrat with an “R” in November.
Sam Pierce’s last blog post..A sad society
Well, no matter how McCain is on abortion, he’s better than Obama, Mr. “Infants born alive ought to be left to die on the operating table”, right?
Tepid endorsement, to say the least.

Great work as always Tieki!
I am afraid it will boil down to the lesser of the evils.
An Obama or a Hillary presidency will be a far worse.
Sigh…
For you.
