David Kahane on Sarah Palin. Choice quote:
So that’s why we hate you, Sarah Marshall Palin. We hate you because you remind the other side of their wives, their girlfriends, their daughters, and make them want to fight for you against our sneers and our smears. We hate you because you’re smart and accomplished and didn’t make your bones on the back of Monica Lewinsky. We hate you because you’ve made us forget that our last two candidates for vice president were Joe Lieberman and John Edwards, whoever they were.
We hate you because you’re smart and beautiful and we wish we had women like you on our side.

Not very pro-Palin; Brooks sees her as a younger McCain, but makes sense out of the decision, and, inadvertently, challenges the “poorly vetted” and “gender politcs” charges. Hey, David - ever heard of a Cabinet? She’s a perfect VP. Bob Gates and Mitt Romney and all those guys can have a role in the administration, too.

Fantastic roundup!
We all knew the lefty sharks would be out for blood. To bad for them that Sara Barracuda supporters will render them dead in the water. They will end up as chum when we all are all done with them.

Great post! I just wrote one about her the night of her nomination! SO glad I can have a ticket to be proud of now! Whohoo! A Pro-Life ticket that (shocker) puts their money where their mouths are. . adoption of special needs kids, choosing to have a special needs baby in the midst of a CRAZY busy life and supporting a teen daughter who finds herself pregnant! I can’t WAIT for her to debate on abortion!

I think I need to pay you more, because this is amazing.
Keep it up, obviously the disgusting attacks will continue to fly and our side will need all the information and support we can get!

Thank you, Neil.
tieki - I’m going to demand a 10% raise. Retroactively.
Sam - thank you! Feel free to borrow, link, or otherwise co-opt. We need ammo, info, and, yes, support. We were all so thrilled with the Palin nomination on Friday. By Saturday, the liberals went into attack mode, shunning her as a “token,” the pick as “insulting to women,” and the choice of a tough reformer as a “Hail Mary pass.”
The attacks are so ridiculous, but I hope they backfire. I think they’ll get more people to watch and then vote for McCain. If the media would have been more ho-hum it would have helped Obama.

Neil,
From what I’ve heard, the average joe on the street is pretty appalled by the attacks.
The media forgets that Hillary won the popular vote, in part because a lot of people were very upset with the way she was treated. Literally millions of people kept voting for her, long after it looked like she had any chance of winning the delegate count, because they were pissed.
The best part is that the media attacks Hillary, Bush, and others, then gets all surprised when their candidates don’t sweep the country. People are apparently “uninformed” - not for lack of knowledge, but for not swallowing the opinions of the media.
Glad we have the blogosphere to fight back.
