Daily Link Love for the Sarah-cuda

Our gal brought down the house last night.  Three solid minutes of a standing ovation, and she hadn’t even compared hockey moms to pit bulls or started dissing the Washington-insider media.  With that good news, I bring you today’s (belated) version of Link Love for the VP Nominee that We <3!  (We also bring you a theme song for the Obamessiah crowd after Palin’s speech.)

VelvetHammer has the speech and the transcript. It’s almost impossible to tell, but her teleprompter failed.  Our redheaded friend has a comparison of Palin and Obama, off the cuff. In all the excitement about the Sarah-cuda’s grand slam of a speech, it’s easy to forget that Rudy did a great job.  Velvet has him, too.

We’ve heard that Palin is a foreign-policy lightweight.  (If Bill Clinton was considered a heavyweight, someone should inform the people making these critiques that chowing down on deep-fried Chinese food doesn’t count.)  Canada’s National Post fires back, and is fired up about Palin.

Installing Sarah Palin as John McCain’s running mate was called “an insult to women” (Sally Quinn, Diane Francis, Margaret Wente, Ruth Marcus, Madeleine M. Kunin, et al., ad nauseum). How long before these women eat their words? The countdown began with Ms. Palin’s blockbuster speech at the Republican convention Wednesday night. If Palin is an insult to women, Arnold Schwarzenegger is an insult to men and Barack Obama is an insult to blacks.

And it only gets better.  Read for Joe Biden being called a “poor sap” for having to debate Palin; hard facts about ANWR; and energy independence.

Ann Coulter: The Best Man Turned Out to be a Woman.

Tammi has her favourite Sarah Palin quote.

Defiant Infidel on the “wistful notion” of getting a down-to-earth, pro-life, American into office.

dot-comments at the WaPo notes that Palin has struck fear into the hearts of her opponents.

Break out the ice skates.  The LA Times wrote a piece… on a conservative… that makes her look principled, tough, and like someone you hope is picked for your team.  Read for Palin taking on Big Energy.  Maybe it’s the Erin Brockovich overtones that appeal to the Prius group, but why say that her speech knocked it out of the park?  Will there be rains of fish soon?

The Seattle Post-Intelligencer says that Palin speech an “unqualified success.”

The Wall Street Journal has a good piece on Palin’s speech.

Arab News calls Palin’s speech “an instant jolt of energy.”

Is it just me, or are there new faces in the Link Love Lineup?  A few of the old papers that have a new attitude about our homegirl?  Would it have anything to do with the fact that she said that she’s not going to Washington to seek their good opinion?

It was kind of nice to see a bit of the old McCain back last night.

It seemed to me that the only part of the speech that the delegates really liked as a mass were the bits about his time as a POW, though. Mostly, his talk about doing things different from the last eight years didn’t seem to resonate much.

I actually saw a woman make a sour face at one of his points as the panned the audience.

Seemed like the people who liked the speech were mostly the very old, or the people coming up who were barely voting age or not-quite yet voting age.

I think he’d be in real trouble if he didn’t have Palin. On my blog, I suggested that maybe they should do a surprise nomination of Palin, and encourage her to pick her ideological twin, and intellectual mini-me; Michele Bachmann of Minnesota.

Then, we’d be rid of Bachmann in the state, and that would be even better than shuffeling off Pawlenty! :-)

New strategy: send all our extreme conservatives to Washington so we can fix our bridges and our roads, and preserve school choice in our state. :-)

    Neil,

    Thanks for the video. :)

    Zabs,

    Will do.

    Teresa,

ROFLMAO. I would say that Massachusetts and California and Virginia can shuffle all of their Dems to Washington, but there’s a lot of them. Oh, well. ;)

    Roxeanne,

I’d just be glad to gt rid of Pawlenty and Bachmann.
