And now for something completely different…

Sorry for distracting from the Sarah Palin Link Love, but I spotted this on my reader this morning and about swooned in the middle of class:

Kirk Cameron:  I Only Kiss My Wife… Even on Screen

When it comes to smooching, Kirk Cameron only has lips for his wife.

The former star of the TV sitcom “Growing Pains” refused to kiss the actress who played his wife in his new movie “Fireproof,” he told the “Today” show on Monday.

“I have a commitment not to kiss any other woman,” he told the morning show. So his real wife, actress Chelsea Noble, was the body double for the onscreen kiss.

“So when I’m kissing my wife, we’re actually husband and wife honoring marriage behind the scenes,” Cameron told “Today.”

The former child star became an evangelical Christian at 17 and is involved in The Way of the Master ministries.

How romantic is that?  I always wondered how married Hollywood stars deal with kissing people who are not their spouse.  I would have a serious problem with that if I were dumb enough to marry a Hollywood star.  Luckily for me, I’m not that dumb. :)

AWWWW! Your mom sent that along, too.

Now, what’s this about almost swooning in the middle of class? ;)

Ummm … swooning in class is one thing but did you post this while in class too? :-O

I too thought it was fantastic…I have idly wondered about that a couple of times; i.e., is there an adultery loophole for “acting?”

They are cute. Am I senile or did they actually get together while co-starring on Growing Pains? Kirk is still a hottie in my book.

Haha…I plead the fifth re: blogging in class. :) It’s a good thing I didn’t go into full swoon mode though. It would have been difficult to explain swooning about analyzing voter behavior. :-\

And Allison, I think they met on Growing Pains playing boyfriend and girlfriend. I don’t know when the real life romance started. ;)

Let me help. The romance did indeed start when they were playing girlfriend and boyfriend on Growing Pains. :)

I’ve often wondered about the kissing-other-than-spouse situations of the TV/movie industry. Just as often, I’ve thought that I would find it hard to do (fortunately, I never had to “kiss the girl” in any of my school plays). After reading your post, the thought came to mind, how many actors/actresses have a desire to honor God, and thus would see kissing someone they are not married to (or whatever else the script calls for) as no big deal?

God bless Kirk Cameron for the stand he takes. May his tribe increase.
