“Change you can believe in” means change on the dollar. The night before the election, the Dow was at about 9,600; now, it’s at 8,695. For those trying the long division at home, that’s about $0.90 in a post-Obama victory to the $1 pre-Obama victory. Can we get our change back?
When I first heard that Obama had made a website (www.change.gov) for his transition team, I had two thoughts: 1. at least the Bushes have more class than the Clintons; and 2. if I ever become bulemic, I’m so putting that above my toilet for inspiration. Now, the indomitable Michelle Malkin rocks it out with the obvious: Obama may or may not have a right to make a .gov website (the “President Elect” not being an official office or anything), and he can’t use it for fund raising - which is exactly what he is doing. Change we can believe in, folks: laws are for other people, not the Messiah.
Neil sums up my thoughts nicely: Worst. Election. Ever.
Ann Coulter breathes new fire into conservatives:
This blame-the-messenger thesis allows Democrats to conclude that their message was fine — nothing should be changed! The American people are clamoring for higher taxes, big government, a defeatist foreign policy, gay marriage, the whole magilla. It was just this particular candidate’s personality.
Republicans lost this presidential election, and I don’t blame the messenger; I blame the message. How could Republicans go after B. Hussein Obama (as he is now known) on planning to bankrupt the coal companies when McCain supports the exact same cap and trade policies and earnestly believes in global warming?
She also gives us this: “Similarly, after unelectable, ultraconservative Reagan won two landslide victories….”
Don’t get me started on what this means for our unborn children. I’ll blog about that when I don’t want to cry, knowing that it’s going to be open season on children until they can pour their own cereal.

I say nay, nay or as Rev. Wright would say, naw, naw, naw… there is an official Office of the President Elect. How else could Grand Chancellor Elect Obama have a sign that says so on his podium today?

Sam Pierce,
Probably by the same mechanism that gave the candidate Obama his very own Presidential seal.
Teresa,
Awwwww!!!! I love it. Thank you.
Nice, Teresa!
I have little faith in Obama or the people who will be around him in his administration, but I appreciate being reminded of the goodness of Americans…where the real power lies and always will lie.
Good point Roxanne, I wonder if he will use this mechanism to change the official seal or the address of The White House? He would probably like to “govern” from Chicago… on second thought, it is probably too dangerous there.

Teresa — where was all the love and unity during the last 8 years of the Bush administration? Now that the Dems have the Whitehouse, let’s let bygones be bygones, right? Sweet!
