The Truth About Margaret Sanger

Sorry I’ve been a bit MIA lately. I just finished preparing for a 20-30 minute presentation on the pro-euthanasia movement that I am giving tomorrow morning. Really, the past two weeks researching and organizing that have been such fun.

Anyway, today I heard a really interesting and informative lecture from Dr. Angela Franks about Margaret Sanger, the eugenicist. Dr. Franks is the author of Margaret Sanger’s Eugenic Legacy: The Control of Female Fertility. You may know that Margaret Sanger was the founder of the American Birth Control League — which evolved into the lovely organization we know today as the Planned Parenthood Federation of America — but many people are unaware (or in denial) of Sanger’s extensive involvement in the eugenics movement.

If you are at all interested, I encourage you to check out this 1-page fact sheet published by Planned Parenthood Hurts Girls, an organization Dr. Franks helped to create. The fact sheet is called “The Truth About Margaret Sanger” and features gems from Sanger’s speeches and writings such as,

“The most urgent problem today is how to limit and discourage the overfertility of the mentally and physically defective.”

and another,

“All of our problems are the result of overbreeding among the working class.”

Really, those are just the tip of Sanger’s eugenic iceberg. If you go to MargaretSanger.net, Dr. Franz has documented numerous other quotes from Sanger with the same elitist, bigoted attitude.

The quote that stood out most to me this afternoon was regarding human horticulture:

“Birth Control is not merely an individual problem; it is not merely a national question, it concerns the whole wide world, the ultimate destiny of the human race. In his last book, Mr. [H.G.] Wells speaks of the meaningless, aimless lives which cram this world of ours, hordes of people who are born, who live, yet who have done absolutely nothing to advance the race one iota. Their lives are hopeless repetitions. All that they have said has been said before; all that they have done has been done better before. Such human weeds clog up the path, drain up the energies and the resources of this little earth. We must clear the way for a better world; we must cultivate our garden” (emphasis mine).

So, tell me. You really think Planned Parenthood is meant to help women?

Planned Parenthood: The Latest Field Trip Destination?

From Lifenews.com, Public School Students in New Hampshire Taken to Abortion Center

Manchester, NH (LifeNews.com) — Parents in New Hampshire are outraged after learning that the YMCA, in partnership with a local school district, took a group of junior high school students to a Planned Parenthood abortion business. The Manchester school district has come under fire for the trip and promises students will never go there again. The Manchester school district has partnered with the YMCA to put together a program for at-risk students who are in danger of dropping out of school.

YMCA took the students to various places around town to show them summer programs and places to get involved in positive activities. However, a local Planned Parenthood was also on the list of places.

[…]

Anne Johnson, the Planned Parenthood staff member who spoke for three minutes to the children at the abortion center, said abortion was never discussed. However, the students encountered pro-life protesters on the way into the center and knew that’s what the facility did.

But Joyce Palmer, the YMCA’s community outreach director, defended the trip in comments to the newspaper.

“The intent of the day was to provide information to kids who are getting ready for the summer and won’t have the support of school or at home,” said Palmer. “The intent was not to take kids to an abortion clinic. That word was never said.”

Dawn Michaud, principal of Parkside Middle School knew about the trip beforehand and also defended the trip calling it more of a “job fair.”

This has taken the pro-abortion insanity to an entirely new, pathetic level. Seriously, middle school students? Please tell me, exactly what sort of “summer programs” and “positive activities” are available at your local PP for 11-14 year olds? And as for the job fair, what a farce! This visit was nothing more than an attempt to indoctrinate young students in to believing that the unlimited sex and abortion on demand mentality is socially acceptable. Then they’ll grow up to be completely jaded to and even unaware of the idea of premarital abstinence and the sanctity of life.

Wally World Today, Target Tomorrow?

I noticed that Wal-Mart had caved to Planned Parenthood sometime last week, and it appears that PP has recognized this for the victory that it is and has now set its sights on Target. (Seriously, I am not going to have anywhere left to shop if they keep this up.)

From Lifenews.com, “Planned Parenthood Targets Target After Wal-Mart Morning After Pill Win,” by Steven Ertelt

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) — After pressuring Wal-Mart to revise its policy on the sale and distribution of the morning after pill to make it easier to obtain, Planned Parenthood is setting its sights on Target, another large retailer. The abortion business is asking its supporters to contact Target pharmacies to make sure they stock the Plan B drug.

Last week, Wal-Mart adopted a new policy ensuring that customers “will now receive their prescriptions or OTC products in store without discrimination (no harassment or lectures).”

Wal-mart pledged to stock the morning after pill in every store where at least one person requests the drug and to assist customers in obtaining the drug if it is not available at a particular location.

The move came after tremendous pressure from Planned Parenthood.

Celebrating the victory, the abortion business told its members and supporters to lobby Target stores.

“Fresh from our Wal-Mart victory, we’re zeroing in on the biggest holdout,” Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards told her supporters in an email LifeNews.com obtained. “It’s time to target Target.”

The first step in the pro-abortion group’s plan is to have its members collect data on which Target stores stock the morning after pill and which stores have pharmacists who have moral or religious objections to selling it.

“Visit Target stores in your community to check on the availability of emergency contraception,” Planned Parenthood instructs its members.

Richards says the abortion business will be relentless in forcing Target to promote the morning after pill as much as possible.

“Our work won’t be done until Target and other pharmacy chains adopt policies that [promote the drug],” Richards said.

What I would like to see is an organization like the American Family Association come out in opposition to Wal-Mart’s policy revision and stand up for Target’s support of pharmacists who are opposed to the Morning-After Pill. I mean, I am all for using your vast grassroots organization to effectively boycott Ford for being pro-homosexual and NBC for showing blasphemous sitcoms… but I feel like this is an area where AFA could truly make a stand in an issue of life and death.
