After speaking directly with Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform, and having some concerns addressed, Nevada state Assemblyman Bob Beers (R-Henderson) signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge yesterday, promising to the voters of his district and to all Nevadans that he will vote against any and all efforts to raise taxes (or fees) during this legislative session.
That means 9 of the 15 Republicans in the Assembly have now taken the Pledge. The remaining half-dozen Republicans who have not yet promised not to raise your taxes (or fees) this year are:
Assemblywoman Heidi Gansert
Assemblywoman Francis Allen
Assemblyman Pete Goicoechea
Assemblyman Tom Grady
Assemblyman Joe Hardy
Assemblyman Lynn Stewart
Because my middle name is “Mr. Helpful,” I’ve set it up so you can send any and/or all of these Republicans an email asking why they continue to refuse to rule out voting for any tax hikes this year simply by clicking on their names.
