Prison Math

OK, Gov. Jim Gibbons (R) is seeking $300 million in new spending on prisons.

Why? Because the prisons are overcrowded, so we need more cells.

How overcrowded? Well, according to a report in Sunday’s Reno Gazette-Journal, by about 1,000 prisoners.

And how many of Nevada’s existing prison population are illegal aliens?

1,039.

Hmmmmm. I wonder how many miles of new roads could be built using non-union labor for $300 million?

  1. Point on with the illegal prison population; nothing but spanish and little babies during visiting days at Indian Springs Prison. But this illegal prisoner population does not cost the State $300,000,000 per year.

  2. This is a great page. And the contents are really that worth reading. I will add this to my own library
