AB 282 would extend domestic violence protections to Fluffy and Fido. No, I’m not making that up. This Democrat-sponsored bill would get the courts involved in issuing protective orders on behalf of domestic animals.
As if our overburdened courts don’t already have enough to worry about. As if the Legislature, which meets (fortunately) only every other year for (fortunately) only 120 days, doesn’t have bigger fish to fry…no pun intended, since it appears this “critical” bill would include protecting the family gold fish from being flushed down the john during a domestic dispute.
The bill passed the Assembly 42-0. No, I’m not making that up. EVERY Assembly Republican voted for this silly bill.
And so it begins. Rubber-Stamp Republicanism. Again…
