Targeting Heller

Mark April 17, 2007 down on your calendars, boys and girls, because that’s the date the first negative ad for the November 2008 race in Nevada’s 2nd congressional district aired.

Rep. Dean Heller (R) is one of six Republicans being targeted in new television commercials by an anti-war group called Americans United for Defeat…er, I mean Americans United for Change.

Public opinion is mixed on the war. Yes, a majority say we need to go in a different direction, but that doesn’t mean they agree on WHICH direction. The Left wants to pull out, tuck our tails between our legs and skedaddle home. But the different direction many of us on the Right want to go in is fighting more aggressively. For example, if the bad guys run and hide in a mosque…blow up the freaking mosque and kill the bad guys! War is hell, after all.

Anyway, Rep. Heller, in his speech before the Nevada Legislature a week ago, said, “Congress should not set arbitrary timetables and reckless dates for withdrawal that accomplish nothing but to enhance and empower the enemy,” adding, “Our soldiers don’t need 535 generals who were boldly for the war before they were boldly against it.”

Pure…common…sense.

But for boldly calling a spade a spade and not backing down to the cut-and-run crowd in Washington - who are desperately trying to recreate the exact same domestic environment which ended in defeat in Vietnam - Heller has been targeted by a bunch of - what’s that phrase again?…oh, yeah - “tree-Hugging, Birkenstock-wearing, hippie, tie-dyed liberals.”

A badge of honor, Rep. Heller. You must be doing something “right.” Keep on keepin’ on.

  1. Chuck,
It appears you know damn little about this war in Iraq as you spit out the GOP corporate lies. Seems we got into Iraq the same way we got into Vietnam; by people misleading the Country.

Cut and Run? Read the authorizing resolution: its “Mission Accomplished”! Read the well published reports (see Paul O’Neil’s book and the newest book by Bush I speech writer, Gold), that indicate that the first order of business at the first NSA meeting was how to go about attacking Iraq. This was well before 9/11. We could have a hell of a surge if all the little GOP do-gooders quit talking the game and actually put on some combat boots, signed up and went over to the middle east and killed all our enemys.

How many generals were against this president’s surge? Are they stupid, too. BTW, a majorityof House Democrats were against the attack resolution. Pure common truth.

Polls shows that Republicans (I ques only LEFT Republicans) are for letting Iraq to build its own Country. Wasn’t Bush against Nation Building before he was for ruining America to begin Nation Building?

When did you serve in the military, you big patriotic enemy killing gun hugging club tie wearing home schooling faux conservative? There were plenty of opportunites for you to go kill an enemy..hell, you could sign up tomorrow.

Yes, yellow hawks abound…Lott; Cheney; Guilliani; Muth, et.al.

  2. Great Site, Yeah. Hope you can improve it again!
