A Senate committee killed Nevada State Sen. Bob Beers’ bill which would have allowed properly trained and licensed teachers to carry a concealed weapon on school campuses. The bill died on a 4-2 vote before 32 students and teachers were killed on the campus of Virginia Tech earlier this week. At the very least, the proposal to allow certain teachers to protect themselves and their students against a VT-type attack should be debated in public by the full Legislature, and each and every elected official should be put on record as either supporting or opposing the idea.

As a former school board member, I agree with you 100%.
If the majority of principals, teaches, coaches, and administrators were trained and armed, our schools would be much safer.
We cannot protect our children completely from crazy mass-murders, but our beloved children at least deserve a fighting chance that an armed school staff would provide.
Yes, arm them immediately, all of them; provide all teachers, coaches, administrators and principals with weapons and ammunition; provide extra benefits based on “markmanship” (i.e. merit); provide by law immunity (in case the shot(s) goes wide); allow teachers to shoot dumb ass principals and administrators; AND THEN TERMINATE ALL THE USELESS POLICE OFFICERS!!! Why, look at all the money we would save!
I know all homeschooling Moms and Dads are packing heat on their hips! Punks.
