SB 94 also went down in flames yesterday. That’s the bill which would have raised room taxes on Nevadans from Las Vegas and other parts of the state who spend the night on the Douglas County side of Lake Tahoe. That’s the good news.
The bad news is that eight of the nine senators to vote for the tax hike were Republicans…INCLUDING TWO who have signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge: Sen. Washington and Sen. Hardy. The other six tax-hiking senators were Amodei, McGinness, Nolan (of course), Raggio, Rhoades and Townsend.
But don’t criticize their vote if you’re registered with the GOP. That would make you a “bad” Republican.
