The Little Rock, Arkansas, school board fired its superintendent this week by a 4-3 vote. But there’s a heck of a lot more to this firing than meets the eye.
Get this: Among the reasons given for firing Roy Brooks, as reported by the Associated Press, was that he “encouraged some teachers to leave their union, and was also accused of being “nonresponsive to black school patrons.”
Here’s the kicker: Brooks is black.
Here’s the double-kicker. The three votes to keep the black guy on the job came from the three white members of the school board. The four black members voted to kick the black guy to the curb.
