To run the entire state of Nevada, Gov. Jim Gibbons is paid an annual salary of $140,000. To run the Community College of Southern Nevada, President Richard Carpenter was recently offered $336,000 by University Chancellor Jim Rogers. Is it just me, or is something out of whack here?

excellent point! WAY out of whack!
I am not sure I see the problem? He has done a lot and presumably, if he stayed, could have done a lot more. That salary is not outrageous… It is large, but not outrageous.
Doesn’t he give that salary back? Seems like I read that somewhere. Of course, his TV station in Elko is on state-owned property at Great Basin College still??? Only in the former last bastion of conservativism is that allowed.
Rogers doesn’t make any money, NVMojo. Or maybe $1 annually. Chuch is upset that a college president was just offered more money than the governor makes. I’m not sure there is really any logic to the argument that it’s wrong. It’s just your regular “higher education is bad because it’s liberal” or whatever 30 year old, tired talking point Chuch could think of today.
