In case you didn’t think that the new Democrat-majority in Congress was taking care of the most pressing and critically important business of the nation, here’s just a quick look at some of the important issues Nancy Pelosi & Company addressed and passed on Monday, courtesy of our friends over at the Republican Study Committee…

We’re really getting our money’s worth out of these people, aren’t we?

It is great that they are so busy. I hope they will continue to work on pressing matters like these as long as they are in charge. We just need to be watchful that they don’t try and slip in a piece of real legislation that could hurt the nation.
If the above is an example of what the House of Representatives are up to, I believe it’s time to “fire” the entire lot. We’ve definitely not received our taxpayers’ money’s worth. Granted, they’ve not, so far, hurt us with the illegal amnesty mess being pushed by the Senate and President Bush. But, it’s clearly an example of the elitist attitude inside the beltway.
Nice bunch of patriots we have here in the drum-beat nation. No, not really!
Quit believing every BS&^% thing that comes out of our Republican Study Committee;
I only checked on one bill above, H.R. 2563 Sponsored by Senator Grassley (R) and Congressman Latham (R) to HONOR Major Scott Nicely. Seems the Major went and got KILLED in IRAQ last September 2006. Seems the Major was assigned to the 133th Infantry with the Iowa national Guard. CONGRESS named the Post Office building, where MAJOR SCOTT NICELY worked for the past YEARS, after him.
But my Republican “patriots” think, “If the above is an example of what the House of Representatives are up to, I believe it’s time to “fire” the entire lot.”
Read the story yourself: Death of a soldier
Who wants to research the other 10 bills (hey, there couldn’t possibly be other bills sponsored by Republicans in that group could there?), and make the Republican Study Committee (and CHUCK), look like incometents?
Only “Southy” would think that naming post offices was a critical function of this Democrat-majority Congress. “Southy” would like to change the conversation to whether or not the post office was named for an honorable person. Trying to change the subject is a tried-and-true tactic of people who have lost a debate. “Southy” loses…again.
H.R.2127
Co-Sponsors:
Rep. Tom Cole [R, OK-4]
Rep. Mary Fallin [R, OK-5]
Rep. Frank Lucas [R, OK-3]
Rep. John Sullivan [R, OK-1] …..BTW, “R” stands for Republican; “OK” stands for Oklahoma and the numerical designation (4, 5, and 3) is the congressional district each represents.
So, why is the Republican Study Committee working so hard to make us look bad?
Chuck,
1. You bad mouth “this Democrat-majority Congress” and lay out 11 bills as a useless waste of time. 2 out of 2 bills I looked at are Republican legislation. The Democratic majority congress seems to be passing Republican legislation.
2. You don’t seem to know a thing about any of the bills.
3. I don’t see where there was a “change of subject” , I was talking about the bill, H.R. 2563, that you were ranting about.
4. Major Scott Nicely and his family and friends are the loser.
5. Think about this for July 4th.
You can see your pancreas from where your head is, can’t you Southy?
..no Chuck, on this issue only you can.
The Republican Study Committe (RSC) is The Caucus of House Conservatives, it is comprised of 100 members of the House.
Here is the really pathetic part; H.R. 2127 (see my post above and Chuck’s original post) was cosponsored by Cole, Fallin, Lucas and Sullivan who are all Republican and ALL listed members of the RSC.
The question is, why are they making fun of themselves? Or as my Mom would say, “why are you cutting off your nose to spite your face?”
Now I agree with poster Ijim Shedd, “If the above is an example of what the House of Representatives are up to, I believe it’s time to “fire” the entire lot.”
