“Once the most controversial tech issue in Washington, net neutrality is now mostly forgotten,” wrote Roy Mark at eWeek.com yesterday.
Don’t you believe it. Not for a nano-second.
The political appetite for net neutrality by some members of Congress many have abated for now, but we’re talking about a proposal which would open the door to government regulation of the Internet. The nanny-staters and Big Government crowd still salivate over that prospect. And the loons over at MoveOn.org are nowhere near ready to move on from this issue.
To borrow a phrase from the late, great Mark Twain, reports such as Mr. Mark’s on the death of net neutrality are greatly exaggerated.

It’s funny how people spin words to twist a concept and gain support for it. The Fairness Doctrine (Who could be against fairness?). Net Neutrality (Shouldn’t the internet be neutral?).
The major legislative failure that occurred this summer resulted from an inability to find a word or phrase with positive connotations to overcome the word “amnesty.” Thank God for that.
