The Bear Necessities

OK, some of you - well, mostly my family - didn’t believe me when I wrote about a bear coming into our campground at Lake Tahoe a couple weeks ago, climbing up a tree near our campsite and sitting there for five hours before getting hungry, coming down and returning to the woods. Well thanks to Eric Odom, my Director of Internet Operations, I finally figured out how to get the video out of my camera and onto YouTube. Check it out…

  1. Now why did I get the idea he was more intimidated by you than you were by him? Ah, I know. He stayed in a tree for five hours using is paws to keep his 250+ pounds up there. All the while probably having his stomach growling at him louder than all the campers shouting at him.

When he does come down, he quickly leaves without a meal and you called him a “Bully”! Poor little Teddy Bear. All he wanted was a little TLC.

Thank you for my best story for Patriot’s Day. I knew someone would give me something to smile about.
