The TSA - those wonderful folks at the airport who make the nation’s skies safe from toothpaste, grannies in wheelchairs and tots in strollers - has forsaken security for political correctness. This just in from the Associated Press:
“Air passengers will no longer have to remove bulky headwear such as turbans at screening checkpoints if doing so makes them uncomfortable. A revised federal guideline, effective Oct. 27, gives airport screeners the option to pat down headwear at the metal detector if a passenger does not want to remove it for personal reasons.”
This has got to be one of the stupidest, outrageous things the TSA has ever done - and that’s really saying something.
You and I still have to take off our shoes and coat and belt and watch and glasses before being cleared to board a plane, but if someone doesn’t want to remove his turban for “personal reasons,” that’s OK? Beam me up, Scotty!
The next time you reach Checkpoint Charlie at a TSA screening post at the airport, ask him if you can leave your shoes on for “personal reasons.” Let me know what he says. After you get out of detention, that is.

What a freaking joke! The terrorists have to be laughing their butts off at this stupidity.
This just goes to prove, you cannot count on others for your personal safety. You must be very aware of the circumstances surrounding you and be ready to act if necessary.
