For Republican primary and caucus voters who somehow continue to be enamored with Mike Huckabee…
I’M THE CHRISTIAN, HE’S THE MORMON
“Let’s start with the Huckabee Christmas commercial, obviously aimed at evangelical Christians who constitute more than 40 percent of Iowa voters. . . . (N)o matter how many denials he and his supporters offer, that was a cross in the background and it was no accident it was highly visible. . . . It was a subliminal message, just as it was a subtle way of telling voters, ‘I’m the Christian, Romney is the Mormon.’”
- Columnist Michael Reagan
CROSS PURPOSES
“I love the cross. The sight of it, the fact of it, saves me, literally and figuratively. But there is a kind of democratic politesse in America, and it has served us well, in which we are happy to profess our faith but don’t really hit people over the head with its symbols in an explicitly political setting, such as a campaign commercial, which is what Mr. Huckabee’s ad was.”
- Columnist Peggy Noonan
STUPID AND EASILY LED
“As far as I can tell, it’s mostly secular liberals swooning over (GOP presidential candidate Mike) Huckabee. Liberals adore Huckabee because he fits their image of what an evangelical should be: stupid and easily led.”
- Columnist Ann Coulter
GOPOSTASY
“(GOP presidential candidate Mike) Huckabee’s campaign actually is what Rudy Giuliani’s candidacy is misdescribed as being - a comprehensive apostasy against core Republican beliefs.”
- Columnist George Will
ETHICAL TIME BOMB
“It isn’t just that Mr. Huckabee is far from a traditional conservative; he’s a potential ethical time bomb. . . . In Arkansas, Mr. Huckabee was investigated by the state ethics committee at least 14 times. Most of the complaints centered on what appears to be a serial disregard for government rules about gifts and outside financial compensation. He reported $112,000 worth of gifts in one year alone, nearly double his $67,000 salary. Five of the 14 investigations resulted in admonishments.”
- Columnist Kim Strassel
THE D’S LIKE MIKE
“Here’s an interesting statistic: Since the beginning of 2007, the Democratic National Committee has released 102 direct attacks on Mitt Romney. Rudy Giuliani has warranted 78; John McCain 68; Fred Thompson 21. Mike Huckabee? Four. The most recent of these landed back in March. GOP voters may not have examined Mr. Huckabee’s record, but the left has–and they love what they see.”
- Columnist Kim Strassel
ON SECOND THOUGHT
“The candidate causing the most dramatic shift in my thinking is Mike Huckabee. I always thought of him as a strong conservative and a nice guy, but that he didn’t have any chance of winning the nomination and that he was running for Vice President more than anything. After learning more about him I still think he is a nice guy, and I have been extremely impressed by his communication skills, but that ‘strong conservative’ thing I believed was not so accurate.”
- Blogger Lorie Byrd
PLAYING THE WOE-IS-ME CARD
“Under fire, Mike Huckabee countered mounting criticism from GOP presidential rivals Thursday by playing the woe-is-me card. ‘Everything but the kitchen sink is being thrown at me,’ the Republican leader in Iowa polls complained at nearly every stop.”

Huckster Huckabee
Baptist preacher Mike Huckabee lied about his theology degree and he is lying about his immigration enforcement policies. Governor Huckabee of Arkansas has one of the worst records on immigration enforcement out of the GOP candidates and is willing to lie to the nation about it.
Mike Huckabee, like Ron Paul, is being touted and supported by the Democrats. The amounts of money being collected in such short a time, should raise eyebrows and an investigation into where such sums are coming from. And I’d bet the family farm that the investigation would show the bulk of it coming from the left. George Soros’s Democratic party and all their cohorts know that Ron Paul or Huck cannot come close to beating Hillary. They could also be grooming iether of them for a third party run as they did with Ross Perot in ‘92 to siphon off votes from a Romney/Hunter dream team.
Mike Huckabee is likeable, and as my wife says, Humurous. I, on the other hand am suspicious of glad handers and candidates who rely on personality. Governor Huckabee comes from the same neighborhood as our President Clinton.
One only needs to see Governor Huckabee’s record in Arkansas to see he is no conservative!

I haven’t made up my mind yet but Mike is a nice guy and he has good answers to all this cirticism that is being thrown at him. If he’s not a conservative, give me some more than I can vote for who left their state with a surplus budget. You might be for not supporting illegals and I would put myself in that category but, in effect, we have already by letting them stay here. The best way to give them a better chance at success is to educate them but we still have to deal with their legality. Let’s start by enforcing the laws we have and build that fence. He’s a Christian and I’m glad he’s standing up for who he is and if he didn’t, I would wonder where his convictions are. Yea for Romney’s convictions also, I don’t think that people of faith should be impuned for their beliefs. If their honest, I like that and it gives you a window into who they are. All these slams, that he’s not this or not that, is really sickening. Put his whole record up and let us see but to pick part of it and label the guy is just not right and who’s going to decide what a conservative is and how conservative is the Republican Party anyway-not as much as I would like to see. Big government-I don’t want but smart goverment I do want. Let’s get rid fo the pork and ineffective programs and replace them with ones that work and make sense.
It is clear to me Governor Romney is the only one on either side who has the character, values, integrity, experience and discipline to be our next President. We should be grateful he has come along at this fortuitous time in our history.
Seems to me that Huckabee is playing the Hillary card…..”everybody is picking on me because I’m a woman, I mean Christian.
