FINDING A PROBLEM WHERE NONE EXISTS: “It is hard to imagine any time in history when such rampant pessimism about the economy has existed with so little evidence of serious trouble.” - Economist Brian Wesbury
“Washington, D.C. is a place where delusions go to thrive. That explains why Congress and the president are now agreed on remedies that will not work, expending money they do not have, to fix a problem that may not exist.”
- Columnist Steve Chapman
OBAMA VS. YO’ MAMA
“Barack Obama kicked Hillary Clinton’s you-know-what in the primary election in South Carolina. He largely did it by getting something on the order of 85% of the Black vote and nearly a quarter of the White vote. . . . Obama, in case you haven’t noticed, is Black. Hillary, in case you haven’t noticed, is very, very White.
“…The fact is Barack Obama crushed Hillary Clinton in South Carolina and the Clinton campaign cannot pretend she didn’t contend there. She did and she barely got a quarter of the votes. Democrats may have to come to grips with the fact that Hillary is not the perfect candidate. In fact, they may have to admit she is a fatally flawed candidate.”

EYES WIDE OPEN
“This primary contest has been a rolling revelation for many Democrats and the media, as they’ve been shocked to see the Clinton brand of divisive politics played against one of their own. Liberal columnists who long idolized the Clintons are even writing more-in-sorrow-than-anger pieces asking how Bill and Hillary could descend to such deceptive tactics. Allow us to answer that lament this way: OUR readers aren’t surprised.”
- Wall Street Journal editorial, 1/28/08
THE DAY BEFORE FLORIDA
“The latest polls indicate Florida is now a two-way race between Mitt Romney and Sen. John McCain. Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani losing support — and polls now put him in fourth place after Mike Huckabee.”
- CNS News, 1/28/07
ROMNEY’S ACHILLES RIGHT HEEL
“The cost of Massachusetts’ health insurance mandate is projected to rise 85 percent in 2009. But former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney — now running for the Republican presidential nomination — has been praising the program he put into place.”
- CNS News, 1/28/08
FRED’S BIG BUST
“(Fred Thompson’s presidential) campaign goes down as the biggest bust out of Tennessee since Dolly Parton.”
- Jason Wright of Political Derby
RUDY AND THE DOLPHIN STRATEGY
“Most of the (Republican presidential) candidates ignored Wyoming and focused on the New Hampshire primary, except Rudy Giuliani, who’s following a shrewd strategy, originally developed by the Miami Dolphins, of not entering the race until he has been mathematically eliminated.”
- Columnist Dave Barry
RUDY’S REMARKABLE ACHIEVEMENT
“Despite doing everything in Florida but don Mickey Mouse ears and ride on a float to the Epcot Center, Rudy is on the verge of a historical achievement – the worst-run campaign for president in the history of ever. Google ‘worst Presidential campaigns’ and you’ll get John Connelly and Phil Gramm. But Giuliani’s could end up worse then both of theirs. Combined. Times ten. Plus infinity. Plus one.”

Interesting run down. However, I believe at the Republican convention, after at least to ballots, Fred T will nominate Newt Gingrich. Newt will then pick McCain as his running mate.
