It’s worked so many times before, Republicans are already back at it.
Principled, limited-government conservatives who object to the moderate-to-liberal choices handed to them by the GOP establishment in the form of Fords, Bushes and Doles, are being ridiculed, berated and thrashed about the head over threats that they simply won’t vote for the lesser of two evils, even if that means the greater of two evils wins.
Columnist Burt Prelutsky, who I normally love reading, hopped on this bandwagon in his latest column: “I happen to think that people who support Clinton or Obama have a screw loose, but they strike me as being far more rational than my fellow Republicans who are threatening to boycott the election if their favorite candidate doesn’t head up the ticket,” Prelutsky writes, concluding that those conservatives “really ought to be ashamed of yourselves.”
In earlier years, I might have had some empathy for Prelutsky’s position. No more. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. I’m not insane. But the GOP is, if it thinks it can nominate John McCain and not see principled conservative voters flee the party in droves next November.
And I’m not ashamed to say it.

I seriously believe the GOP, or at least a segment of some elite, wants Clinton to win. This election has shown, more than any other, that the politicians are not of the people.
In my dream world politicians hold strong stances on issues and true American people research and stand behind the candidate that supports their views.
Instead, we now have the majority of Americans acting as cheerleaders rooting for 2 teams. We are just supposed to support our “team” no matter how poorly they perform. Is it any wonder the politicians treat us like we’re ignorant?
Thank GOD for the internet, but I figure politicians will soon figure out a way to qwell the “insurgency”…
I am cynical enough to believe that the republican leadership (still an oxymoron) made a deal with the devil (oops democraps). We will nominate the worst candidate so that the wicked bit#h of the left will win, if you give us a senate or house committee leadership.
In 1940 it was Joe, Tojo and Adolph, now it is the bit#h, Barack and the Manchurian Candidate.
