Unfortunately for Nevada’s beleaguered school children - especially those in charter schools or on a charter school waiting list - the Nevada State Board of Education is scheduled to meet again tomorrow at the Department of Education compound in Carson City.
In addition to considering and possibly adopting even more regulations to put the screws to Nevada’s charter schools, the posted agenda includes a much-anticipated command performance by the governor’s Chief Operating Officer, Dianne Cornwall. That is, if she shows up.
You may recall that Ms. Cornwall was scheduled to brief the board at their last meeting in March, but neither showed up nor sent anyone from the governor’s office in her stead. After the fact, the Merlot Express said she knew nothing about the meeting. Let’s hope someone calls to remind her this time. Or that someone forwards her this newsletter.
