Some Workers More Equal Than Others

The Associated Press is reporting that “About 78,400 Nevadans were out of work in April” as the state’s economy continues to falter. But the Gibbons’ administration proudly boasts that none of those 78,400 out-of-work Nevadans were government employees laid off during this current budget “crisis.”

Not one government employee has thus far been deemed “non-essential” by the Gibbons administration. Not one. 78,400 other Nevada workers aren’t needed in the private sector, but every single state government worker is. What’s wrong with this picture?
