Surely the decision was almost entirely political and not for reasons of good morality in a decent society, but give credit to Ohio Democrats for officially disowning Attorney General Marc Dann.
Dann recently admitted to having an affair with one of his staffers, resulting in what has been described as a hostile work environment in his office for everyone else. In response the D’s kicked the dog to the curb last week.
“The Ohio Democratic Party doesn’t want anything to do with Marc Dann, the embattled Ohio attorney general who was elected in 2006 with the party’s endorsement,” reported William Hershey of the Dayton Daily News last week. “The party made that official on Saturday, May 10, as the executive committee, by a voice vote, adopted a resolution that says ‘the Ohio Democratic Party no longer recognizes Marc Dann as an endorsed Democratic Statewide officeholder.’ The resolution also kicked Dann off the executive committee and called on him to resign as attorney general.”
I’d like to think the Nevada Republican Party would act similarly in similar circumstances should they ever be put in such a position. But what Nevada politician would ever cheat on his or her spouse. I mean, puh-lease.
