Certain wacko elements of the Ron Paul camp - which likely means the officious Jeff Greenspan is involved somehow - have reportedly sent out a press release announcing that they have obtained funding from an “angel” and will now attempt to reconvene the Nevada Republican Party convention themselves in Reno over the next couple of weeks.
This is…how to put it gently?…monumentally stupid. Even if these goofballs somehow pull off a gathering, there’s no way the Republican National Committee would ever recognize a “convention” called by any entity other than the Nevada Republican Party and they’ll simply refuse to credential any “delegates” elected at a such rogue confab. This is an exercise in…how did I put it again?…oh yeah, monumental stupidity
The Nevada GOP has tried to work fairly and cooperatively with Ron Paul’s supporters in this state, but the Paultards among them are out of control and completely unhinged. While the party is attempting to do what the party is responsible for doing regarding the election of delegates to the national convention, the Paultards are doing everything in their power to gum up the works and hijack the operation. GOP leaders have tried to accommodate and work with the Ron Paul supporters, but the paranoid Paultards among them have continually rebuffed their entreaties and slapped them in the face.
This latest effort may finally break the party’s patience with these shenanigans. The Paultards may be happy wasting time and energy debating, ad nauseum, obscure and disputed interpretations of Roberts Rules of Order, but candidate filing for office in Nevada is now closed and it’s time to start the serious work of actually electing candidates. And since Ron Paul doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of getting the GOP presidential nomination, it’s time to put an end to these childish and useless maneuverings.
Which reminds me, the Republicans have recruited an outstanding candidate - former Secretary of State Cheryl Lau - to run for the assembly seat in Carson City which is currently held by Democrat Bonnie Parnell. And one of the leading ring leaders of the Paultards in Carson City is a guy named John Wagner. So what did Wagner do? Did he throw his support behind the GOP challenger in an effort to pick up a seat in the assembly? No. Instead he changed parties and filed to run for the same seat as an Independent American. What a great, dedicated Republican, huh?
So the claims by many Paultards that they are just trying to be good Republicans is pure flapdoodle. These people are all about these people and they couldn’t care less about the party. Not that I do, either, but I’m not pretending to.
Perhaps it’s time for the Nevada GOP to stop wet-nursing the Paultards and just kick ‘em to the curb. Their 15 minutes of fame are up. Just do a mail-in ballot for national delegates and get it over with, quickly and inexpensively. The state delegates have been officially credentialed and the nominations to attend the national convention have been officially submitted…both by the nominating committee and from the floor at the Reno convention. The only thing left to do is vote. So just print up some ballots with all the nominated candidates’ names on it, mail the ballots out, and may the best Republicans win.
Also, there were numerous reports of voting irregularities at the Reno convention for the nine congressional district slots. Those election results should be scrapped and a new mail-in election should take place - with proper controls to make sure people in one congressional district aren’t voting in another congressional district - along with the mail-in balloting for at-large delegates.
The Paultards will yelp like scalded dogs, but…who cares? They’re going to whine, bitch, moan and complain no matter what the party does. So just do what’s in the best interest of the party and let the chips fall where they may. Enough is enough.

As I’ve maintained throughout this unfolding epic, I’ve never had a problem with Ron Paul’s legitimacy as a presidential candidate. My complaint has been against those who would toss party rules aside and have a meaningless snap election in which 1400 voters would have to choose 62 national convention reps out of close to 200 candidates.
Even if we had a faster and more accurate means to cast and count those votes, no one would still know for whom they were voting. The Paul organization, such as it is, dropped the ball by not organizing a slate in advance that they could present to the convention.

Here you go again, Chuck.
Since the convention the campaign has not heard word one from the state party, though in the press, the state party said that they are talking to the campaign. It aint true. Nor can you provide evidence that it is!
Are you at the root of this? It looks like you are contributing to this highly unfortunate situation.
Apparently, the angel donor, who put the money out as an in kind donation to the state party, not the Ron Paul campaign, wanted to provide the state party with an opportunity to reconvene the convention AT NO COST TO THE STATE PARTY!
It was NOT a Ron Paul campaign effort contrary to your whining about it. Yet, even this offer, a wise choice the party could have made to resolve any and all contention was rebuffed.
Chuck, whoever takes your advice is taking bad advice as all you have provided is emotionalism and nastiness instead of ration and logic. As evidence, I submit that following your advice is making things WORSE not better.
You will protest, yet your protestations still are not yielding an improving situation.
Get out of the way and let wisdom, ration and logic rule the day.
Facts + evidence vs. Muth’s “Truths”
Come on, you expect Bushbots to exhbit reason, logic and, above all, honesty. Haven’t you learned anything in the last 8 years.
Blather on, Greenspan. It’s what you do best. In fact, it’s the ONLY thing you do. Brace yourself, sport. Your 15 minutes are almost up here in Nevada.
“The Paultard Convention” “Blather on, Greenspan. It’s what you do best. In fact, it’s the ONLY thing you do. Brace yourself, sport. Your 15 minutes are almost up here in Nevada.”
Maybe you would do better, helping the GOP find better choices to have us vote for, then Bush(x2), Dole or McCain.. as the “at least he is not a Dem” thing.. is just plain worn out..
Um, James, perhaps you missed it…but Ron Paul was my choice in the Republican primary. However, the race is over. Time to move on.
Chuck, don’t flatter yourself.
If you are threatening me, don’t talk about it like a wuss. Do it.
So far the advice that you’ve given, if it’s been taken, has been quite bad.
The facts and evidence state against the fantasies you spin.
Gee, Jeff, I see your paranoia is still running rampant. You really ought to see someone about that, or up your meds.
Much like the non-existent “threat” you falsely accused columnist Wally Edge of making against you, there is no “threat” here - only a prediction. I was around long before you creeped into Nevada and will be here long after you scurry back home to Arizona.
I have no idea what you are talking about, Chuck. It’s utter nonsense. I didn’t say there was a threat. I told you directly to do whatever it is you have in your mind to do and quit talking about it. Good gracious.
I also told you directly that if someone is taking your bad advice, they are making bad decisions.
There you go again, Jeff. Of course you said there was a threat. You said so in your own words. Let me quote them back to you: “If you are threatening me…”
It is truly amazing how you consistently hang yourself with your own words. Especially words written just 16 minutes apart.
Whatever, Mr.
You said “Brace yourself, sport. Your 15 minutes are almost up here in Nevada. ”
My reply: IF it’s a threat, less talking, Chuckie, more action.
I didn’t say it was, I said IF. Are you daft? What’s WRONG with you?
It’s plain english.
No, your reply was - and I’m quoting here (see above), “If you are threatening me…” Apparently you have difficulty in the delusional world in which you live discerning a “threat” from a “prediction.”
Oh, and “english” in plain English is spelled with a capital “E.”
Well then, perhaps you should get out of the predictions business because, at least on this subject, all of your “predictions”, as well as your advice, have been poor to wrong.
Nor do you have one single shred of evidence to the contrary.
The only evidence that I need that you can’t keep your stories straight, Jeff, is your own words. You just keep digging yourself deeper and deeper.
Chuck, you still seem to fail to understand simple English and logic.
I have no “stories”. You have stories. You cannot imagine that other people are NOT storytellers because YOU are a story teller.
Whatever “stories” you fantasize that I have have not changed.
Nor have you still yet EVER presented one shred of actual evidence that they have. Nor can you.
You attempt to spin things one way (which fails) then the other (which fails). And in your eternal failure to get the outcome you want, you resort to character assassination.
That’s all you have because you ignore simple facts.
Every post you have made about my “stories” have been utterly refuted as false. Nor have you demonstrated otherwise.
If you have something big in store, quit whining, quit talking, let it out. Tell us for once and for all.
Last piece of advice: you are not helping the party by feeding them your false “spun” tales built on your fantastical opinions, totally ignoring the facts. You are hurting them more than anyone.
Jeff, you make Paul Bunyon look like Mother Teresa.
Oh NOW I see.
You are advising to do a MAIL IN ballot! Aha!
You state that there were “irregularities”, yet not one has been presented!
You would like to deprive the delegates of the decisions they made and are advising the party to do a “do over”. Why? Because one of your friends lost or didn’t like the outcome? “Do over” lol.
We already know the results of who won the CD elections at the convention. They are posted here:
http://people.ronpaul2008.com/campaign-updates/2008/04/30/details-from-jeff-greenspan-on-the-nevada-state-republican-convention/
Please note, the names cited as having observed the votes and signed off on the tally sheets did not come from me. Ask the people named themselves to verify and post their replies.
“Um, James, perhaps you missed it…but Ron Paul was my choice in the Republican primary. However, the race is over. Time to move on.”
Thank you for the information. I did not have knowledge of such fact.
As to the “time to move on”.. I can not accept that. Not so much as a Dr. Paul Supporter, but as an American. Neither front running choice for the White House, is agreeable to someone like myself.. a Constitutionalist.
So I must stay the course.. and while I know Dr. Paul chance’s are between slim and none. I will fight for his cause, till the last ember of that fire dies out.
Ah, Jeff. One thing’s for sure, you’re consistent. Consistently wrong. But consistent.
I believe that if you check you’ll find that the results of the voting for those congressional delegate races have never been certified. You putting results up on the Jeff Greenspan Clown Blog simply doesn’t count as official results.
But keep on swinging, hoss. You’re bound to connect and get something right sooner or later. In the meantime…wrong again.
Well, that was an interesting span of blog entires. I really don’t know what to make of it, but I did have a question for Mr. Muth. Is is possible under Robert’s Rules or the Republican Party bylaws/rules to reconvene without the approval of the State Party? I would see a slight problem in that only the State Party has an actual list of delegates, but if for whatever reason a technical quorum were present, and delegates brought and certified idenntification that was later authenticated by the State Party — and please understand that I fully recognize this is a stretch, and not at all likely — would this not constitute an authentic convention regardless of what the State Party might think? Just a question.
