I was soundly chastised by one of Gov. Jim Gibbons’ top “kitchen cabinet” advisers for writing last week that the governor was waffling on the tax pledge he made to voters in 2006 while running for governor. This individual assured me, in no uncertain terms, that the governor remained absolutely, positively steadfast on his promise to “oppose and veto any and all efforts to increase taxes” in Nevada. Well…you be the judge.
In an interview published today in In Business Las Vegas, Gov. Gibbons was asked: “You’re driving critics crazy by sticking to your pledge of not raising taxes at a time when higher taxes would seem to help solve many of the state’s problems. Are there any circumstances that would warrant your support of an (tax) increase?” The governor’s response: “I’d love to say a flat no. But I don’t have a crystal ball.”
Folks, this Weeble is wobbling. I just hope he don’t fall down.

There you go. Another weak puppet in a major office. He is in favor of toll roads (technically, not a tax, but what a weasel). Anyway, it seems that Republicans in Nevada turn socialist in the Governor’s seat. Witness that all-star Republican Kenny Guinn.
Does anyone really have confidence in either of our two parties? If so, I would really like to hear why…….other than “that is what everyone else is doing”. If that is you excuse, join the lemmings running for the suicide fall.
