Funny how once you start digging into a political race what you find. And so it is with Nancy Allf, the Democrat Party establishment’s anointed choice for the Nevada Supreme.
But it’s not just Democrats who are supporting Allf. A quick check of her website uncovered the names of a handful of longtime Republican Party activists who have lent their names to Allf’s “Committee to Elect” - including Ashley Hall, Kyle Stephens and Tim Cory.
Adding insult to injury to the GOP candidates running for this seat - Don Chairez and Kris Pickering - a number of Republicans publicly supporting Allf are well-known social conservatives and church leaders. Indeed, Citizens for Responsible Government - a well-known conservative political organization noted for its strong roots in the Mormon community and which includes on its Board of Directors Republican Assemblyman Lynn Stewart and former Clark County Republican Party Chairman Brian Scroggins - has formally endorsed Allf.
I wonder if they know that Nancy Allf used to be the head of Planned Parenthood?
Don’t get me wrong. While being pro-life or pro-choice is a litmus test issue for many voters, it’s not in my case. But I have a rather low tolerance level for political hypocrisy and cowardice.
The fact that Nancy Allf served as Chair of Planned Parenthood of Southern Nevada in 1993 has been a prominent part of her resume over the years. You can find it referenced HERE and HERE.
And yet…
Despite an extensive and ridiculously exhaustive list of “accomplishments” (114 jaw-dropping separate bullet points) on the Experience page of her campaign website - including the superbly trivial fact that she was a speaker at the Nevada Trial Lawyer Association’s Brown Bag Lunch in April of 2000 - not one mention of her stint as head of the abortion industry’s main lobbying organization. I wonder why?
And I wonder if all the pro-life social conservatives and church-going Republicans who have endorsed her campaign will now have second thoughts and rescind their endorsements? Or will they be as hypocritical as Nancy Allf herself? Inquiring minds wanna know.

gee maybe these people know that don chairez allegedly falls far, very very far indeed, from family values?! You know what he is alleged to be doing as an immigration attorney, right? That don’t fly with the family values crowd!
