Simply Despicable

The Associated Press reported yesterday that veteran conservative columnist Bob Novak had been diagnosed with a brain tumor on Sunday. The story concluded with this:

“Novak was the first to publicly reveal the name of CIA operative Valerie Plame. Last week he was given a $50 citation after he struck a homeless man with his black Corvette in Washington. Novak kept going until he was stopped by a bicyclist.”

Which sparked this response from a News & Views reader:

“Interesting, but I didn’t seem to remember the AP reporting about Teddy Kennedy’s brain tumor and then noting that he got kicked out of college for cheating or that he left Mary Jo Kopechne to drown while he sobered up for nine hours.”

Sure, there is liberal bias in the press, and for the most part conservatives just need to get over it and stop whining about it. But sometimes the liberal media sinks so low that you just can’t help but point it out. This is definitely one of those times. AP should be ashamed of itself.

And we wish Bob Novak all the best.
