The McCain Shuffle

The brouhaha over the Sen. McCain’s confusing position that “everything is on the table,” including possible tax increases to bail out Social Security, continues. Anjeanette Damon of the Reno Gazette-Journal has posted an audio recording of a post-town hall meeting with local reporters on Tuesday in which she and Samantha Stone of KOH radio tried to pin the GOP presidential candidate down on the issue - with no luck.

You can hear McCain’s convoluted answers to their straight-talk questions HERE on Inside Nevada Politics. And listen for Sen. McCain making this statement: “I’ve always supported tax cuts.”

Au contraire, mon frere. I seem to recall that Sen. McCain famously voted against the Bush tax cuts not once, but TWICE. Now, he might be able to articulate a valid reason for voting against them due to the fact that spending remained out of control, but he can’t honestly say he’s “always supported tax cuts.” No, he hasn’t.
